Can you help find me a doctor please?
x-no-archive: yes

Dear group,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am finding it very
difficult to find a doctor over here in Brisbane, Australia, who
understands and can treat CFS/ME.

There is one is particular who specialises (Dr Whiting) however his
books are closed and I have done an internet search and can find no
others.

There is a clinic that I have heard about at Carina, that is supposed
to help however their fees are very expensive.

Surely there is a doc over here that charges normal rates and that
could help? My family GP is no help as she doesn't appear to know much
about this illness and just tells me to rest and manage my life,
however I am sure that more could be done to help me?

This is going on 19 years now and I was only formally diagnosed last
year. I am beginning to feel desperate. Can you help?

TIA,

Hi Welcome to upscm! I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid it's unlikely
that anyone here will be able to help you find a doctor in Brisbane.
Quite apart from the fact that we don't have many people posting here
at the moment, we are a UK based group and I can't think of anyone
from Australia who posts here.

I do hope I'm wrong though and someone can give you some useful
information.
