Knee follow-up
Well, I just got back from my follow-up visit to the hospital. I was
rather surprised to find myself talking to a physiotherapist, rather
than a doctor. She explained that the whole purpose of the visit was to
see how my knee was working.

I can do better than a 90 degree bend and have no trouble straightening
the leg, so don't need to have physio on it. Went over a few of my
worries regarding the aches and pains I've been having. All seems normal.

I've been discharged from the hospital completely. Need to go back for
an X-ray in 2 years to make sure my knee is still there, but otherwise
it's a case of doing as much as I feel I can - including driving!

I'm just hoping that I'm not going to be escorted out of this group,
since most of my arthritis has been cut away. My hands are still a
nuisance, though.

And I gather that some of you have some sort of celebration this week.
Have a very good one!!

Cheers for now,

Dave

Re: Knee follow-up
Davie, once you're in this group, you're in to stay. I'm still in the
alzheimers group and Grayson died in 2001 from alzheimers. Once you're in,
you never get out! Glad you are doing well.

Re: Knee follow-up
That must be becoming more common Dave - my follow up visit at 7 weeks was
with a physio too. She was more than happy, but if she hadn't been then she
said she could have shoehorned me in to see the consultant. Makes sense I
suppose for those patients who have no problems when the surgeons are so
busy. Shame though - I'd have liked to shake his hand!

I was discharged also, but here in Glos we go back at 1 year, 5 years then
10 years, for x-rays and checkup.

Feels kind of odd doesn't it?
