Julian May, Female Sci Fi writer. Anygood?
I have The Many Coloured Land by Julian May. Worth a bash? You don't
seem to hear much about her.

She hasn't done too much lately, but the Many Coloured Land series
is one which DID make her famous (in the 80's, when they appeared).

It is the first novel of a series of 4, the others are:
The Golden Torc
The Nonborn King
The Adversary

I didn't like them too much, but I'm not really a fantasy fan, many
other people had a different opinion.

PS: she also CO-wrote a series with Andre Norton and Marion Zimmer
Bradley (the Trillium series), which I liked much better:
Black Trillium (all three)
Blood Trillium (May)
Golden Trillium (Norton)
Lady of the Trillium (Bradley)
Sky Trillium (May)
