A Scanner Darkly the Film. From the Book by Philip K. Dick
I tried and tried to get hold of this film in South Africa, but
couldn't. So I downloaded it at work. Having seen it, I have to say it
was excellent. I have read the book and I don't think I have seen a
film that stays so close to the book meterial. Excellent acting and
well put together. It reminded me of my own druggy days.

I haven't read the book. I watched the DVD recently. It captivated me and
I couldn't look away, but don't know if I would describe it as a great film.
I agree with what you said. The technology was great, acting was great,
kept me watching, very affecting, but for some reason don't know if it was
the Jerry Springer effect, can't look away but can't call it great tv or
what.
