Center on Spinal Cord Injury (RRTC on SCI) for a FREE Web
cast on Exercise and Spinal Cord Injury. The RRTC on
SCI is a program of the National Rehabilitation
Hospital in collaboration with ILRU.
Dr. Brad Hedrick with the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign will present the web cast "Exercise
and Spinal Cord Injury" on Thursday, November 1, 2007
at 2:30pm Central; 3:30pm Eastern; 1:30pm Mountain;
12:30pm Pacific. The webcast will be moderated by
ILRU Director and Professor of the University of
Texas at Houston, Lex Frieden.
Dr. Hedrick is Director of the Division of Disability
Resources and Education Services (DRES) at the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has 31 years of
professional experience in the field of rehabilitation,
and extensive hands-on expertise in the administration
of adapted sports and recreation for persons with
disabilities. He has coached athletes with disabilities at
the local, national, and international levels in addition
to authoring a wide array of articles, books, and research
on this subject.
As part of the continued focus on knowledge and prevention
of secondary conditions associated with SCI, Dr. Hedrick
will discuss the many benefits of exercise for persons
with SCI. The webcast will be moderated by ILRU Director
and Professor of the University of Texas Medical Branch,
Lex Frieden.

and its role in improving function and decreasing the
risk of secondary complications.
