Is it possable to insure a hearing aid for accidental damage or loss .

In a word, yes. Household insurance would cover it if you list these on
the policy.

I take it that you bought hearing aids so yes its best to insure it.
Dont know why private ones are better than NHS ones from what I have
seen in leaflets they look rubbish.

I can confirm that private ones are much better than the supplied NHS
ones well the one I bought yesterday, is anyway no choice with NHS
just a standard Siemens that looks and performs about five years
behind the times .
