Is there a huge glut of boots?
I've been in quite a few groups this morning and all seem to have adverts
for ug boots. So, is there some boot cnspiracy out there or what?

Re: Is there a huge glut of boots?
Hi Brian,

No there's no glut - quite the opposite in fact!

Ugg boots are a designer brand & typically cost £160 a pair.

Consequently there are many, many sellers out there who are selling fakes
imported from the far East & they account for the spamming you are seeing in
the newsgroups as they are just coming to the busy Xmas season for
defrauding unwary consumers.

i know someone who just last Sunday made a round trip of 40 Miles to the
nearest official Ugg retailer who had some in stock - & they only had three
pairs!

Regards.

No, manufacturers sold old stock off cheap the way others do when items
are not selling due to a high price. Most people will not pay a high price.
There will be anartificial shortage at Christmas from official retailers in
an
attempt to increase the price. Then you will get "SALE" after Christmas!

Re: Is there a huge glut of boots?
I suspect the previous poster is also right, that someone is flooding the
market with dodgy copies.

One interesting thing about the current spam in newsgroups, though is that
although servers are filtering them a lot, the source of the spam keeps
changing, but not hugely. Its as if they get shut down but already have
another way to spam and sell. I just wonder who in their right mind would
buy anything from an outfit that behaves in this way. Its not exactly going
to be above board in its customer relations if it resorts to this dodgy form
of marketing in the first place. Its the digital virtual equivalent of the
guy with a suitcase in London watching out for the police before moviing off
to somewhere else!
