Stranded?
When you make that emergency call to the RAC dont tell them that you
managed to crawl to the safety of a garage forecourt.
You will be given a low call out priority and this could mean as I found in
N Wales, a 2½ Hr wait for a Patrol and a further 2¼ Hr wait for a flat bed
truck.
I realise that an expectant Mum stranded on the M6 hard shoulder needs
urgent assistance, but what about the rest of us?
Next time, if there is one, I tell them that I could cause a traffic
bottleneck.

That is why you shouldn't bother with the RAC. GREEN FLAG do not
operate a sexual discrimination policy which is illegal, but they do send a
mechanic out from the closest point to you. I used them twice from my
own drive and they arrived in 30mins and had the car going again. They
sent out a vehicle capable of towing my car, so no extra wait. That was
via Tesco as the quote was cheaper. Never had a problem with GREEN FLAG.
At least they send a mechanic and not a sales person!

I suggest you complain, ditch and switch.

Tell them that and they will ring the police.

It's funny how the RAC operate an illegal sexual discrimination policy.
Why would a woman on her own be at any more risk than a man on
his own? Why should a woman be given priority?
They probably still think domestic violence is where a man hits a woman,
not a woman hitting a man or two men or women hitting each other.
Some organisations and people in the legal world as out of touch,
the RAC is one of them. Women are quick to shout about equal rights,
but then they start shouting discrimination if anything doesn't suit them.

Ditch the RAC and any other bacward thinking company. Go with
GREEN FLAG, they call on a garage local to you in the area you
have broken down. Service is fast and a fraction of the cost of RAC.

Last time I called the RAC they insisted I wait for a visit by a patrol
before getting towed, despite explaining that there was a large hole in the
side of the engine block with the mangled remains of a conrod poking through
it.

It had got me about 10 miles nearer home since the piston made its grand
exit but just couldn't get up that last hill.
