prob with Kaspersky & and encoding mp3s
Hi folks, I've got my first mp3 gig on Wednesday, so I'm currently
encoding my entire catalogue of music into mp3 format at 320 Kbps, and
I've been using Microsoft Media Player version 10.00.00.4019 it says.

I had it set-up so that I put the cd in, it starts playing
automatically, starts ripping, and then ejects the CD when it is
finished so I know when to put the next one in when the music stops.

I also had it set up so that people can watch me on MSN, and see how far
I have got, as it lists the name of the CD playing, and also the webcam
was pointed at the sleeve of the current CD, or the deck, when I'm doing
the vinyls... Everything was fine.

Then I uninstalled CA EZAntiVirus (latest version) and put a trial of
the latest Kasperky Personal Pro on.

Now, it no longer starts the CD music playing automatically as it was
doing before, and if you do it manually it will do the first CD, but
after that, it will not recognise the next CD, but it doesn't seem to be
crashed, but it doesn't list the track names and stays there with the
tracklist for the first CD I do....

Any ideas anybody? No matter what I tell it to do, it doesn;t seem to
make any difference. I'd like to switch to Real Player 10, but then
people on MSN won't be able to see what I am listening to? Actually, I
didn't check this yet....

Also time for a registry flush. What do you guys use to do this?

tia, Alex.
