When to play Xmas songs
When do you first play your Xmas songs? You know those cheesy ones like
'wish it could be xmas every day' rockin around the xmas tree' 'merry xmas
everyone' etc

I got a gig on the 30th Nov is that too early? the next one is a work party
on the 14th so might wait til then. What say you all?

DJ Spider

P.S. Merry Xmas! LOL

The second dumbest question is to the wrong people. Ask the person doing
the hiring if they want Christmas songs. Then there is also the audience
requests. Be a good Boy Scout and be prepared for such requests!

Oh I have all of them in a folder ready, just wondered what other DJs
experiences were. I mean what is the earliest date you've played Xmas songs?

Re: When to play Xmas songs
The stores here start playing the stuff in november. So I guess anything
after that is fine. I usually save them for any xmas party (including xmas
in july) however. At club gigs we dont start playing any (if any) untill the
last week or so. Its a bit cheesy to start playing santa songs half way
through an electo set.. lol.. So a single track may be used at the end of
the night.

Re: When to play Xmas songs
Man its been flat out for the last three months. We are short on DJs now and
have put our prices up for the rest of the month to try and slow things down
a little. Go figure.

I wont be so happy in june july though.. Thats when it all falls in a heap
for us.
