FS : Rivera R55 112
hi all, on behalf of a friend. He's selling his Rivera R55-112.
It's just been serviced by Flynn Amps in Glasgow and is in as good
nick as possible for an amp that's been working. £250 ONO
I can bring it to Buxton if needed.
cheers

I daren't say yes - I haven't got enough house-room for another amp (unless
I get rid of the AC30 - no...).
However, that looks good value.
There's one on eBay at the moment for a much higher price.

How do you clean your nuts?
... and bridges. Seriously. I have been cleaning up a year old Spanish
guitar that needed some care and attention. First job was to clean up 40
years worth of grease on the fretboard, which was not not going to well
until I tried dabbing it with a tissue soaked in dilute white spirit, which
worked like a dream (but not something to overdo because it might take out
the stain on the fretboard), followed by some lemon oil.
Having done that the next job is to clean the bridge and the nut, both of
which are plastic but have turned browny green on the surface. Neither seem
to respond to soap, water, alcohol or other solvents. Any ideas?

Just water about 2:1.. I'm not sure it was necessary, but I just wanted to
make sure that the gunk came off before the stain in the wood, which it did.
The tissue was only slightly damp but the results were quite remarkable. A
quick dab and wipe and 40 years of gunk were gone. Some lemon oil and it
looked like new. Mind you this is a cheapo guitar; I would be more careful
with my 2 other rosewood neck guitars.

Have you tried lighter-fluid/naphtha/Ronsonol?
Works wonders for cleaning gunk off all guitar parts.

I don't think this was finger "gunk", but just deteriorating plastic,
possibly some sort of surface algae. Came off with some scraping and
scratching.
