Wilsic/Miles Platting amps
I noticed a Miles Platting amp here:-

http://www.twotribesmusic.co.uk/amps.html

"The brand-name came from a railway station in the suburbs of Manchester,
UK. John Skewes was passing through the station on a train one day and
thought the name had a ring to it and thought it would make a suitable
brand-name for a product. The cabinets were made by Wilsic. They had a small
workshop for these as well as for the electronic chassis."

Should be making a visit soon to Wienbrock amps in Sowerby Bridge to try an
ME1 and ME2.

Jeez...when I was at school, Miles Platting was a particularly
viscious 3rd team we used to play at Rugby. Not as hard as Sale
Grammar though - they were tough little bastards.

I grew up half a mile from Miles Platting, trust me Sale is posh
compared to it.
