*** Buxton Acooooostic Set ***
Some of you may have noticed that it is possible to add drums and bass
parts to acoustic tunes.
Erm ... er ... how can i say this politely?
DON'T!
Yes. I think that is pretty clear.

Actually, can I clarify that? Bass is OK if you have already got
yourself a bassist. We have done bass many times, but if you are going
to do bass on an acoustic tune, I suggest that you sort that before
posting it. Keys ... well, we'd rather not. Same for drums. I think I
can only ever recalled one drummed acoustic tune.
Why?
Well, it's about simplicity and speed:
1. The acoustic tunes benefit from the beautiful sound of traditional
instruments coaxed by skilled hands. Ahem.
2. Swapping out personnel for complicated six-man bands will make the
acoustic set painfully slow and we may end up having to shorten it. Or
we may put it on the week before (joke). Seriously, the acoustic set is
meant to be a nice, short, undemanding part of the day that lets us all
relax, have a quiet pint and cry along with Justin Otto.
Be sensible.
Thanks a mil,
Nige.

Bummer - I'd got a nice little Pentangle style 'Red House' all sorted
out...:-)

Hmmm I'm listed as guitar 2 on Tears In Heaven, but it's supposed to
be fretless bass. Will this still be ok.

See the second post. If you think you can do it efficiently, then fine.
