*** Manglement - Drummers ***
Hi everyone.
Here is a quite insight into Buxton arrangements. There are three things
that have to be in place for this event to work:
1. Venue
2. PA
3. Drummers
Problems with any one of those can kill the event off.
With drummers, it is nice if their limited availability can be lessened
such that we can spread the load a bit and avoid a situation like we had
in 2006 where Steve White drummed something like 60 songs for 8 hours
straight.
So, if any of the Buxton 2009 registrants are hiding drumming skills, no
matter how basic, please come forward and stick your name on a couple
for songs. It will help us out a LOT.
Thanks!
Nige.

I'm just persuading no66y jnr that drumming to more songs would be good
experience, even if they are not by his favorite artist.
wish me luck

That's all well and good but don't forget there are going to be other
drummers there.
I'd excercise some restraint until the others have had chance to see what
songs are on the list.

No bad thing to get involved with something you don't particularly like.
Our band's original drummer was/is the son of our singer/keyboardist and was
12 years old when we started out!
Naturally, he hated what we old farts were playing but was happy for the
practice.
We then recruited another old fart as drummer and the youngster went away
and joined a band more his own age.
He's now at university but when he's home he's happy to dep for us whenever
our regular drummer isn't available.

LOL
Well he's hanging fire for now but maybe prepared to fill some empty slots
later (maybe)
Quite a few drum slots filled now I see :-)
Quite a way to go yet.
