What?!
What are we saying here, that only music that evolved over the last few
centuries(?) in Europe(?) can be played professionally? I appreciate
that's surely not your view - nut I suspect it is a view.
"And another thing" :)
When people use the word "primitive" in the context of a musical form,
what's going on there?

Loved your stuff on Mulgrave Street - well, Hole in the Head, anyway. :)

An album by a band called Amazing Blondel.

I didn't say anything about 'primitive'. Vernacular, yes - music
learned and taught without formal training or theory. Just like
language, which of course we all use at varying levels of
sophistication but rarely take the trouble to actually study.
Anyway, I *was* taking the piss, hence the Blondell crack - a man who
achieved legendary fame without taking a formal lesson or writing
anything down.
Pete (AFAIK - usual disclaimers apply).
