Slightly OT - 1 billion computers
Just reading the US version of 'Computer Buyer' - they are saying that over
1 billion computers have been manufactured in the last 15 years - 35 million
of which are in landfill sites.........;
This got me thinking about the future of 'file sharing' - do you think we
could get to a point in 15-20 years time where you could allow the majority
of the photo/video/audio content on your computer to be shared and so that
if you requested (for instance) 'Bootleg Beatles, York Opera House, May
2012' that all content recorded at that venue at that time, could be
compiled and 'autostitched' by your computer?
You might have a clip from the band's own website, clips shot on mobile
phones/mobile devices, clips shot from the outdoor vicinity that were
time-stamped at that point in space & time then all optimally stitched
together?
If this comes to pass, just remember where you heard it first - I'm naming
it the 'Zapruder' programme (if you catch the reference)
Nick.
(Currently listening to 'The Who - BBC Sessions')

Just imagine how out of control all that info could get. You'd end up
spending far too much listening time trying to find the decent
material. The money will go to the guys who will be able to offer a
well edited cross section of what's out there.
I'll just have to call that programme ZapEd, obviously no connection
with Za-pruder :-)
