Eric Andersen in UK
I don't know how many of you have heard of Eric; he and some of his songs
(Violets of Dawn, Thirsty Boots) were as well known to me as a teenager as
Dylan's, and like Dylan, Tom Paxton, Dave van Ronk, et al he came out of
that 1960s clutch of singer/songwriters/folksingers in the Village (and if
you could hold your own with that lot you *had* to be good).

I'd never seen him live until last Sunday, when he came to Twickenham, and
I have to say he was spellbinding: I've never seen anyone do a one-hour
set with hardly any talking for the first half of it and have *no one* get
up at all, not even to go to the bar for another pint (and the club room
was incredibly warm that night). Sunday was the first night of a tour
round the UK - the dates are on his Web site at www.ericandersen.com. He
seems to be doing the gamut - England, Scotland, Northern Ireland...
Strongly recommended if you're anywhere near one of his gigs.
