Only that you need to be able to play tenor guitar and fiddle at the
same time :-)

If you put "Kitty Jay" into Google, the top hit is this:
<http://www.legendarydartmoor.co.uk/kitty_Jay.htm>. (And the second hit
is Seth Lakeman with his song based on the legend:

"Thank you" would have been rather more polite. I shan't bother to
answer the next time you ask a question.

Attitude!

You could have read his next post, sent an hour before yours, in which the
OP does express his gratitude.

And to think that this used to be such a friendly, non-elitist,
non-judgemental newsgroup in the past.

:-(

Not to me - to somebody called Benn, who provided him with information,
apparently.

Well, you're certainly contributing to that, aren't you? I was the only
person in this newsgroup (I don't know where he found Benn, probably on
a web forum) who even bothered to offer him help. I certainly didn't
see you providing him with any information.

Motes, beams, eyes, glasshouses and stones.

Try rereading his posting, the quality of typing leaves a little to be
desired, I grant you, but with minimal imagination the corrected version
would read:

"Been on legendarydartmoor, found quite a bit, thanks."

Benn = Been - already explained.

As for helping him, you had already provided the exact website that I would
have suggested. I actually came across the Lengenday Dartmoor site a couple
of days ago,I can heartily recommend it, a cracking read - but be warned
that it is rather large and you could find yourself lost amongst the stories
for weeks!

Now, that doesn't make any sense - I have not been rude to anyone, I
believe.

Now that that's cleared up, I'm off for a cuppa.

(You still up? LOL)

If you believe that, then must accept the fact that in your mistaken belief
that the original poster did not express his gratitude with adequate
politeness, you responded to him in a rude, petty minded and mean spirited
manner.

Changing the subject, did you have a look at the LegendaryDartmoor website,
or simply "Google" it in response to the OP's question? It really is a
"gem", and the amount of source material in it is a song writer's dream.

Unintentionally, you've provided me with a superb and concise example of why
surviving in a newsgroup environment can be a harsh experience. And thanks
to all the other (Molly and Grunt) players ;).

Bookmarked as an exemplar.

I was thinking a very similar thing. :-)

On behalf of Molly and myself, we are glad to be of service.
