Interoperability, Europe and Morris Dancing
http://events.imeche.org/EventView.aspx?EventID=718
An intriguing title, shame the event is not local to me.
>Overview
>The government strategy for the deployment of interoperability was discussed in a recent consultation document for transposing the revised Interoperability Directive. What will be part of the next consultation and how is the government strategy likely to affect me and what are the key challenges? What do we want from our engagement in Europe does morris dancing give any insight into our approach to Railways?

We got the idea from somewhere else, developed it into something
distinctive, and the majority of the population lost interest long ago?
It's the red waterproof behind the door, thanks....

Good Grief. I am an intelligent man, and I know b*llocks when I read
it (I admit I couldn't be bothered with the whole article, I didn't
fancy it after reading this quote). Whoever wrote such cr*p should
read the wonderful satire in Little Dorritt about the Circumlocution
Office!

I have a nasty feeling it may exist, and that Joseph Porter may be involved.
It would make a certain kind of horrible sense.

I'll bet it's more to do with Morris dancers having immunity from some
of our newer regulations relating to public performance.

Oh, yes. And any fule kno that blackface derived from the coal smoke. Or
maybe from the sheep that strayed onto the lines before the invention of
fence-posts (which of _course_ is why people celebrate their invention by
thwacking them together). Or something. But who knew that railways were so
many thousands of years old, and/or came from north Africa ?

Well, there are rutways on Malta dating back to about 600BC, so it's not wholly
impossible..
Coat, please..

http://www.playitback.org/ will, they say, carry the lecture. Just as
well, because the event itself clashes with going and doing a bit of
singing.
