"Faces in the Firelight" just published in NZ
For those who don't know Phil Garland he is one of New Zealand's
foremost folk researchers and a folk singer / song writer of wide
repute. Many who know him and know of him have eagerly awaited this
book which indeed has been many years in the making. I hope that you

Subject: [Nz-folk] Fw: Faces in the Firelight just published
Greetings All,
It's celebrations all round as I am delighted to inform everyone that
my long awaited (certainly by me) book 'Faces in the Firelight' has
just been published by Steele Roberts and will be available from all
good bookshops shortly.
A press release will follow in due course.
The book launch will be held in Christchurch later this month with
final details and invitations being posted in the next week or so.
Forty years in the making, Faces in the Firelight tells the New
Zealand story through a swag of songs about sealers, whalers,
pioneers, goldminers, drifters, rogues and scoundrels, shearers,
stockmen, gumdiggers, hard drinkers and moonshiners in company with a
colourful collection of tall stories, bush verse, yarns, toasts and
ditties.
The book will retail for the relatively small sum of $34.99.
I look forward to promoting the book around the traps.
Many thanks for your on going support.
Cheers
Phil Garland
