NAMES ON THE WALL TO BE READ DURING FOUR-DAY EVENT COMMEMORATING THE 25TH
ANNIVERSARY OF THE VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL
Nearly 2,000 Volunteers to Read All 58,256 Names Inscribed on The Wall
Former Statler Brother Jimmy Fortune and Bluegrass Duo Dailey & Vincent to
Provide Musical Tribute
Washington, D.C. - The Reading of the Names, the four-day event during which
the over 58,000 names inscribed on The Wall are read, will take place on
Nov. 7-10 at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial as part of the commemoration of
the 25th anniversary of The Wall, announced Jan C. Scruggs, founder and
president of the Memorial Fund.
"The Reading of the Names is a remembrance of every individual who served
and sacrificed," said Scruggs. "It's 58,256 loved ones, relatives and
friends who couldn't be here with us today."
The four days of readings will open with a Nov. 7 ceremony at the Memorial
beginning at 3:00 p.m. Gordon Mansfield, Acting Secretary of Veterans
Affairs, will be the keynote speaker.
Memorial Fund Founder and President Jan C. Scruggs will serve as the master
of ceremonies. Other speakers will include:
a.. Gen. James Cartwright, USMC, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff
b.. Stanley Karnow, Pulitzer Prize-winning author
c.. Brig. Gen. George Price, USA (Ret.)
d.. Gen. Joseph W. Ralston, USAF (Ret.)
Also participating in the ceremony will be Col. Paul S. Lockhart, USAF
(Ret.) and Col. Carl E. Walz, USAF (Ret.), both representing NASA. A
special musical tribute will be provided by former Statler Brother, singer
and songwriter Jimmy Fortune, who will be accompanied by Jamie Dailey and
Darrin Vincent. Well known in the bluegrass music industry, Dailey and
Vincent have started their own band and will be touring next year.
The Reading of the Names will take place for 65 hours over a four-day
period, during which nearly 2,000 volunteers will read the over 58,000 names
inscribed on The Wall in the order they were taken from us. The first reader
will be Hank Cramer, whose father, Harry Griffith Cramer, died in South
Vietnam in 1957. When The Wall was first dedicated, the names listing began
at 1959. Cramer's name was added later. It is the second name that will be
read on Nov. 7.
Other volunteer name readers include members of Congress, members of the
Washington Capitals professional hockey team, Sons and Daughters in Touch,
Gold Star Mothers and Gold Star Wives. (For a list of notable readers,
please contact Lisa Gough at the Memorial Fund.)
Following is the schedule of reading times:
Wednesday, Nov. 7 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 8 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Friday, Nov. 9 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Saturday, Nov. 10 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
This is only the fourth time in The Wall's 25-year history that all of the
names have been read in Washington, D.C. The first time was at the National
Cathedral in 1982 as part of the Memorial's original dedication. For the
10th and 20th anniversaries, the names were read at The Wall.
The Reading of the Names is an essential part of the 25th anniversary of The
Wall commemoration. The week of events concludes with the annual Veterans
Day Ceremony at The Wall on Nov. 11. For more information on all of the
anniversary events, visit: www.vvmf.org.

Fund, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Morrison,

organization authorized by Congress to build the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
in Washington, D.C. Today, through a series of outreach programs, it is
dedicated to preserving the legacy of The Wall, promoting healing, educating
about the impact of the Vietnam War and is building the Vietnam Veterans
Memorial Center, an underground educational facility, near The Wall.

LONESTAR KICKS OFF CHRISTMAS SEASON WITH NEW CD AT CRACKER BARREL OLD
COUNTRY STORE
"My Christmas List" CD on sale November 6; tour begins November 29
LEBANON, TENN (October 31, 2007) - Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc.
("Cracker Barrel") and multi-platinum recording group Lonestar have combined
authentic country music with the joys of Christmas this holiday season. The
result is a new CD titled "My Christmas List" and places another exclusive
recording in Cracker Barrel's growing collection of quality country music.
On sale November 6th at all Cracker Barrel locations and online at
crackerbarrel.com, "My Christmas List" features eleven newly recorded songs,
highlighted by the energetic vocals delivered by Lonestar's new lead singer,
Cody Collins. In addition to nine Christmas classics like Joy To The World,
Silent Night, and Jingle Bells, this Lonestar CD features two new songs
written especially for this project. The CD's title track, My Christmas
List, reflects how priorities change with age.
"Christmas is my favorite holiday and this song describes how my Christmas
list has progressed over the years," said Lonestar's Dean Sams. "It used to
be all about me and the cool toy I wanted. These days, I just want my family
to be healthy and happy."
"I think this Christmas CD is very special in that it has more of our heart
and soul collectively as a band than ever before," said drummer Keech
Rainwater. "It features great Christmas songs arranged and recorded in a
powerful and unique way."
With this release, Lonestar joins other country artists who have partnered
with Cracker Barrel to create unique projects sold exclusively at Cracker
Barrel. In 2007, Cracker Barrel released exclusive CDs featuring Josh Turner
and Merle Haggard. Previous releases included Alison Krauss & Union Station,
Sara Evans, Charlie Daniels and Amy Grant.
"This Lonestar CD is a holiday gift to be enjoyed long before Christmas
Day," said Simon Turner, Cracker Barrel's Chief Marketing Officer. "As we
welcome people in our homes this season and travel to visit family, this CD
will provide the holiday spirit wherever people are gathered."
Also in November, Lonestar will take its act on the road. The "Cracker
Barrel Old Country Store Presents Lonestar's My Christmas List Tour" begins
November 29th in Dubuque, Iowa. The tour also includes shows in Connecticut,
Rhode Island, Maryland and North Carolina.
Since forming in 1992, Lonestar has scored 17 hit singles on the Billboard
chart, including ten #1 hits and has sold more than ten million records.
Three of their CDs went platinum, including 1999's Lonely Grill which went
triple-platinum. More success followed in 2003 when "My Front Porch Looking
In" was named Billboard's "Most Played Country Song of the Year."

SCOTT BORCHETTA LAUNCHES RECORDING LABEL "THE VALORY MUSIC CO." AS SISTER
IMPRINT TO BIG MACHINE RECORDS
Announces Signing of Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Jewel
Jewel, Jimmy Wayne & Justin Moore set for upcoming releases
Nashville, TN - Scott Borchetta, President/CEO of Big Machine Records,
announced today the official launch of "The Valory Music Co.," a sister
imprint to his independent Big Machine Records label.
"Our objective for The Valory Music Co. is to continue the momentum that has
been achieved with Big Machine by not only replicating our current culture
and our recent successes, but also by taking everything that we've learned
over the last two years and pouring it into this exciting new venture,"
explains Borchetta. "We continually re-engineer what we think we know and
we feel like we've identified an incredible opportunity with the
simultaneous availability of some incredible artists and record executives.
The energy that has come together for this launch is truly incredible."
"We are extremely excited to announce that we have entered into a
multi-album deal with one of the most amazing female vocalists of all-time,
Jewel," continues Borchetta.
With over 27 million albums sold worldwide and with three Grammy nominations
under her belt, Jewel's Country roots go back to her upbringing.
"I grew up on a ranch in Alaska, and my favorite memories are of sitting
around a camp fire with my father and listening to the songs he wrote and
sang. It was pure country music, and it has made me a sincere fan of country
music ever since," says Jewel.
Her first single for The Valory Music Co. is scheduled for the first quarter
of '08.
The Valory Music Co. will have its own exclusive promotion branding team
while utilizing existing Big Machine Records backroom services. Jon Loba,
who comes to the label after leading Broken Bow Records to incredible
success, will lead the new branding team as VP of Promotion & Artist
Development. Chris Loss joins the team from Lyric Street Records where he
had become the leading West Coast promotion force in Country Music. Chris
will elevate his status at Valory as National Director of Promotion and
continue to cover the West Coast from his Scottsdale, AZ office. Southeast
promotion & marketing will be directed by one of the brightest new talents
in Country Radio promotion, JoJamie Hahr. JoJamie comes to The Valory Music
Co. branding team from successful stints at MCA & BBR. Another incredible
young talent, who is new to promotion but not new to Country Radio, is
Miranda Williams. Most recently from CMT Radio Networks, Miranda will
direct promotion & marketing for the Southwest region.
Borchetta continues, "We live in a world of consumers who 'want it now',
while in the same breath, artists want their music 'out now'. When we sign
an artist there is an incredible amount of excitement in that moment that
can be lost when an artist has to sit and wait a year or longer to get their
music out. With the current artist development process being so slow, I
found it very frustrating for artists who had to wait for their proper turn
in the marketplace.
Big Machine, in essence, is full right now from an artist development and
brand building perspective. Taylor Swift, Trisha Yearwood, Jack Ingram and
Pearl Records' Garth Brooks are currently in play with hit singles in the
marketplace. We have an incredible new Danielle Peck album that will be
released in early '08. To add any more releases to the Big Machine branding
team severely weakens chances for success. I made a very conscious decision
earlier this year - I either had to drop some artists that I truly believe
in and stop taking artist meetings or find another opportunity for these
great artists and their music. Today, The Valory Music Co. is that
opportunity!"
The Valory Music Co.'s initial artist roster will also include Country Soul
singer Jimmy Wayne whose debut self-titled album has sold nearly 500,000
copies as well as newcomer Southern Country stylist Justin Moore.
About Scott Borchetta:
A native Californian and accomplished musician, Borchetta's love for music
began in early childhood when he developed an appreciation for the art by
listening to as many styles of music as possible. That diverse influence
afforded him the opportunity of playing a wide variety of instruments in
various bands before moving to Nashville in 1981 and devoting himself full
time to the industry side of the music business.
After a short stint in the mailroom of his father Mike's independent
promotion company, Borchetta started climbing the ladder and soon had power
players heads spinning faster than a top in a hurricane. His willingness to
react quickly to the changing music business led Borchetta to become one of
the top radio promotion go-to-guys over the last decade and now he sits at
the helm of Big Machine Records and the newly formed Valory Music Co.
