STEVE RICHARD
THE CHARISMATIC SINGER-SONGWRITER ROCKS ON A BOUNDARY BUSTING DEBUT
FEATURING COLLABORATIONS WITH COUNTRY SUPERSTAR JOHN RICH (FROM BIG & RICH)
AND RENOWNED SONGWRITERS MICHAEL BRADFORD (KID ROCK, TRAVIS TRITT) AND
GRAMMY AWARD WINNER JEFF SILBAR
* * *
Richard Has Toured Extensively and has
Opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd,
Dickey Betts, .38 Special And Van Zant
Steve Richard, in early 2008, is quickly moving towards his goal of joining
other country icons like Montgomery Gentry, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban as
they push the proverbial envelope and rock out on the edge.
The instantly infectious song "Faster Faster" is about the crazy lifestyles
in the 2000s. Written and produced by John Rich of the superstar duo Big &
Rich, it's the expected first single from Richard's highly anticipated
self-titled debut album, also due to hit the charts the first part of next
year.
Richard's dynamic stage presence and trademark gritty vocals reflect years
of paying dues, and this charismatic singer-songwriter enters the fray with
a scorching track record as a seasoned vet on the road. At one point
performing 100 club dates a year, Richard has also toured the Midwest and
South as both a headliner and opening act for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dickey Betts,
.38 Special and Van Zant.
Coming to Nashville and breaking through as a solo artist, Richard's lethal
mix of talent, charm and ambition quickly earned him the kind of attention
and respect from superstar artists, producers and songwriters that some
performers take years to achieve.
In crafting his multi-faceted self-titled debut album, Richard worked
closely with John Rich, as well as well-known producer/engineer Michael
Bradford (Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, Travis Tritt) and composer Jeff Silbar,
whose two decade long catalogue includes #1 country hits for Alabama and
Janie Frickie and A Grammy Award for Song Of The Year for "Wind Beneath My
Wings" in 1989.
"The album is about that exciting place where country meets rock and roll,
and it's a very 'LIVE' kind of record, with songs that come across very well
onstage," says Richard. "The idea was to do songs that tell honest stories
which reflect the way I feel whether I wrote the song or not.
"My style of music reflects the love I have for bands like Skynyrd and The
Allman Brothers, along with classic sounds of George Jones, Waylon Jennings
and Buck Owens, to the Cream, Who and The Stones.you've got the picture. It's
very much a rocking record, but is completely steeped in country tradition."
Rich, one of Nashville's most in-demand writer producers whose credits
include Gretchen Wilson, Faith Hill, John Anderson and Jason Aldean,
co-wrote and produced five tracks on Steve Richard: "Faster Faster," the
fiery dance tune "Stomp," "Everything Beautiful To Me," the midtempo
crossover song "I Don't Need A Reason" and the beautiful ballad "I'll Never
Leave You." These tracks were recorded and mixed at Sony Studios in
Nashville.
The other half of Steve Richard completes a portrait of the artist with
tracks recorded at studios in Nashville, Los Angeles, and the singer's home
base of St. Louis. These seven songs-including "Bridge Back Home," "Gonna
Make It," "Lost Time," and "Write This Song"-were co-written by Richard and
Bradford. "Tried and True" and "We Ain't Saints," are credited to the
writing team of Richard, Bradford and Silbar.
Richard is working with a new band that includes guitarist Tim Mauldin, the
one holdover from the singer's former group. The singer has already started
performing material from his debut both in Nashville and St. Louis. He
opened for Halfway To Hazard at the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville and for
Montgomery Gentry at the Verizon Amphitheatre in St. Louis. Up next are
dates with Junior Brown in the Midwest and Western regions of the U.S.
Richard says, "We look like outlaws up there.but we're just glad to be
there. The positive response we've been getting with our songs is exciting
and gratifying. I think we play the type of music a lot of people like, and
we're connecting with audiences in both rock and country."

Corlew Music Group Celebrates Third Chart Topper In Six Months
(Nashville, Tenn. -- October 10th, 2007) When Toby Keith's single of "Love
Me If You Can" went to number one on the R&R Country chart this week, the
Corlew Music Group Publishing Company celebrated its third chart topper in
six months.
Corlew Music Group has had two other number one records in the last six
months, both co-written by Tim Owens. "Settlin" by Sugarland went to number
one on May 7th and Brad Paisley's "Ticks" peaked on June 18th.
"In the time it normally takes for a song to climb the chart to the #1
position, Corlew Music Group has had 3 #1's. We are so grateful for our
good fortune, and we feel honored to work with the amazingly talented
writers, artists, producers and players who make these songs come to life,"
said David Corlew.
Corlew Music Group was initially established in 1999 as a joint venture with
Windswept Pacific. It is now a joint venture with Windswept / Bug Music.
With more than 100 songs cut, "Love Me If You Can" makes the company's 6th
#1.

BURGANDY BROWN
DENVER BASED SINGER-SONGWRITER ROLLS 'MY LUCKY 13' WITH AN OUTSIDE THE BOX,
GENRE-BUSTING MIX OF ACOUSTIC AND ELECTRIC COUNTRY, POP, ROCK AND
ALTERNATIVE TRACKS
* * *
A Senior at The University Of Colorado at Denver, Brown Balances School And
A Full Slate of Club, Fair and Charity Gigs As An Unprecedented Five Singles
Receive AC, Hot AC, RockAnd Country Airplay Everywhere From The West Coast
To The Virgin Islands
The striking cover of Burgandy Brown's (www.myspace.com/Burgandybrown) debut
CD My Lucky 13 shows her in fully defiant, cowgirl mode against a backdrop
of Stars & Stripes, like a female equivalent of tough country rocker Toby
Keith. But ask anyone who's seen the singer-songwriter and her kickin' band
play on their home turf in the Denver area - this is just one side of her
eclectic musical personality.
Brown grew up on her grandparents' Colorado farm listening to their Elvis,
Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and Hank Williams, Jr. albums as well as her mom's
Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Alice in Chains and Def Leppard discs. Completely
defying conventional musical industry wisdom that says an artist must choose
only one genre, she combines elements from all these influences into a
dynamic 13-track recording that's got it all. It's country, pop, rock, and
alternative, with rustic, romantic acoustic numbers keeping company
alongside some blistering electric guitar-driven barnburners.
Daring to think outside the box and follow her own instincts, Brown captures
the trailblazing spirit of many of today's indie artists and creates her own
new wave of music. And it's paying off big time. Since the radio campaign
for My Lucky 13 began in August, an incredible, unprecedented total of five
singles have been getting significant airplay in different parts of the U.S.
and as far away as the Virgin Islands in a multitude of formats-Hot AC, AC,
Rock, Top 40 and Country.
Folks on the East Coast are hearing the beautiful ballad "Out Here" and the
feisty post-breakup song "Set It Off," while Midwesterners are enjoying the
optimistic toe-tapper "Basics" and "Lady Like," a jamming ode to Brown's
lifelong pride over being a tomboy at heart. West Coast listeners are
enjoying the summery nostalgia of "Slip N Slide." Brown also has a major
support system in Denver's local country station 92.5 The Wolf, which
earlier this year asked her to be the evening's entertainment at a party
welcoming their new morning DJs. On Friday, October 6, she and her band are
playing at Braun's Bar as part of a station sponsored pre-show warm up for
the Alan Jackson/Brooks & Dunn concert at the Pepsi Center.
Earlier this year, Brown released a teaser mini-EP called Two For The Road
that featured her pedal to the metal acoustic stomper "Basics" (which she
calls a hopeful, post-breakup song) and the heartfelt inspirational acoustic
ballad "Risk."
Crossing genres and wearing different hats, literally and figuratively,
onstage is a piece of cake compared to the way Brown balances her busy slate
of club, fair and charity gigs, two part time jobs and a full course load as
a senior sociology/poli sci major at the University of Colorado at Denver.
Her regular haunts include Herman's Hideaway, The Bluebird and Cervantes and
she recently performed at a fundraiser for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
"My life these days incorporates a lot of different exciting things, which
is very much reflected in my eclectic approach to making music," she says.
"I think the album's versatility makes me relatable to people. No matter the
style, though, I write and sing from real life experiences, hardships I've
gone through and things I've witnessed with my friends and family. I'm only
22, but because I've already gone through so many good and bad times, I'm
able to tell good stories through the songs and people can hear that I'm
singing from the heart."
Brown, who recorded her first EP Eastern Plains right out of high school in
2004, says she's also a fan of rap music and recently wrote some rap and
hip-hop tunes that may make the cut on a future recording. "The whole thing
is that I don't limit myself as a songwriter," she says. "My passion for
many different kinds of music plays a vital role because I'll often force
myself to write outside my usual comfort zone. I think by going against the
grain on My Lucky 13, my band and I have done something that no one else
has, taking the best material we have and putting it out there. It's kind of
scary in a way to do that, but to me being an artist is about more than
fitting into a cozy little box. It's about expressing who I am completely.
And I'm encouraged by all the radio play because it shows that people are
paying attention."
The singer's partner in musical crime in all of the good fortune coming from
The Lucky 13 is her longtime friend, guitarist Bryan Dennis, who wrote three
songs on the album and co-wrote seven with Brown. The core of her live band
is Dennis and drummer EJ Worden, who are both about a generation older than
Brown and began playing in a local band together when the singer was still
in pigtails and preschool. They played the metal/rap of the day in the 90s,
released two recordings as "Hippie Werewolves" and toured the U.S., sharing
stages with No Doubt, Sublime, 311, Everclear and Corrosion Of Conformity.
"I love working with these guys and they're like my uncles in addition to
being great collaborators," says Brown. "They were part of a previous band
that my mom worked with when she was a rock concert promoter. I actually
went on tour with them when I was six. We crossed paths again about four
years ago and started working on my project. Originally, I was resistant to
the idea of writing with someone else, but having worked with Bryan these
past few years, I can't imagine maturing this much as a songwriter without
him.
"We work and compose so well together," she adds. "His strengths are with
the music and coming up with interesting guitar parts, and lyric-wise, he
comes up with themes that I could never think of on my own. This is
complemented perfectly by my passionate and personal writing style, and he
likes the melodic lines I come up with for him to follow. We called the
album My Lucky 13 not only for the number of songs and the amount of stripes
on the American flag but also because we were determined to be different, so
the number that's unlucky for most people would be lucky for us!"
Burgandy, whose name was inspired by her mom's love for Tommy Bolin's 1976
rock chestnut "Sweet Burgundy," says that she's looking forward to
graduating school next year and keeping her career momentum going. "In all
honesty, I want to make music for the rest of my life and make a decent
living from it," she says. "I have such a gypsy soul and I can see myself
getting out there on the road, playing for audiences in many different
places. I'm also proud of my evolution as a writer and artist. When I listen
back to some of the early demos I made in high school and think back to my
first gig at The Bluebird, there's a 180 degree shift with me and the band,
and it's exciting to see this kind of growth. The coolest part now is
waiting for the next best thing to happen."

JO DEE MESSINA FINISHES 30TH ANNIVERSARY CHICAGO MARATHON DESPITE
THREATENING TEMPERATURES
(Nashville, TN) -- Country music singer Jo Dee Messina kicked-off race day
festivities in Chicago on Sunday, October 7th singing the national anthem at
the start line prior to the 30th Annual Chicago Marathon to what appeared to
be a beautiful day. Messina finished in five hours and 45 minutes.
Organizers closed the race course to runners who had not reached the midway
point almost four hours after it began with temperatures as high as 88
degrees Fahrenheit, according to the race's Web site.
"It was definitely one of my harder runs," says Messina. "The heat was
intense in some parts of the race. I kept telling myself 'this is no harder
than my training runs' over the summer. Thanks to a spectator with water, I
was able to stay hydrated, rationing a bottle of water for the last eight
miles of the run. Not my goal finishing time, but, I'm still very proud of
myself for finishing."
Lack of water along the course combined with high temperatures had police
and race officials urging people to stop running and walk the remainder of
the race.
Messina is relieved and proud that she completed the race despite the
conditions. Be sure to visit www.jodeemessina.com for additional
information on her upcoming release and complete tour schedule.
TRACY LAWRENCE RELEASES HIS FIRST CHRISTMAS CD - ALL WRAPPED UP IN CHRISTMAS
To Be In Stores October 23
NASHVILLE, TN-October 8, 2007-Country music's comeback story of the year,
Tracy Lawrence, is set to release the first holiday album of his career on
the Rocky Comfort Records (RCR) label [Distributed by A2M] this year. The
Christmas CD, titled ALL WRAPPED UP IN CHRISTMAS, will be in stores October
23. It marks the first Christmas CD Lawrence, one of country music's true
stylists, has released in his 16-year recording career. The project is the
seasonal follow-up to FOR THE LOVE, the highly successful first album on his
own label.
"As much as I love the holidays, it's hard to believe I've never recorded a
Christmas album," notes Lawrence. "I love everything about the holidays from
shopping for presents to decorating the house with my family. Christmas is
huge with the Lawrence household. Before heading into the studio, I had each
of my daughters select one song for the project. Skylar chose 'Here Comes
Santa Claus' and Keagan selected 'Frosty The Snowman.'"
Lawrence and his co-producer Julian King brought a blend of country, jazz
and classic pop elements together and captured all of the well-loved magic
Christmas. "I've been dreaming of recording a Christmas CD for many, many
years," he adds. "I've just been waiting for the timing to be right. I
looked for songs that were warm as well as fun, and challenging to sing. We
pulled the best from all three music traditions."
The disc features a mixture of seasonal classics with three new songs. Some
of the classics include "White Christmas," "Let It Snow," "Have Yourself A
Merry Little Christmas," and "Winter Wonderland." The new numbers are
"Something In The Air," "Cold Beer," and the title cut "All Wrapped Up In
Christmas." "I really hope this CD will put people in the spirit of the
season," says Lawrence. "It's a collection of songs that I hand-selected to
share with my fans, and I hope it will become a favorite part of their
seasonal traditions."
The project was recorded during some of the summer's hottest days. "It was
nearly 100 degrees outside when we were recording," he explains. "To set the
mood, we put up a Christmas tree in the studio, hung stockings filled with
candy on all of the musicians' mic stands, strung up some twinkling lights
and prepared for a make-believe snow storm. For the moment it felt like
Christmas--at least until we broke for lunch and walked outside."
The disc is a warm and heartfelt immersion in the Christmas spirit from
Lawrence to his fans. "With this CD," he says, "I can share the holiday with
all of my friends."
Lawrence has had a stupendous year, launching his own record label,
celebrating his first No 1 record in more than ten years, and garnering a
CMA award nomination in the Musical Event category for "Find Out Who Your
Friends Are" featuring Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. He proved to the music
community that he can compete successfully on his own imprint.
"Find Out Who Your Friends Are" continues to be ranked among the Top 5
favorites for all demos, currents and recurrents combined, in national radio
callout research. Amazingly, the song was released to radio in August, 2006.
The accompanying video continues to be tops with regional and national music
video outlets including CMT and GAC. The Gold Buckle Network online video
outlet has the video featured prominently on its home page for the entire
month of October, along with an accompanying site visitor contest.
Lawrence's FOR THE LOVE album sales have clipped along consistently since
the CD's release in January, 2007 with actual sales just shy of the 250,000
unit milestone. Check out the exclusive Tracy Lawrence interview and
performance clips on CMT's "330 Sessions" where he'll be the featured artist
beginning October 9.
