FROM CANADA
George Canyon's Classics - In Stores October 9th
October 4th 2007 - Toronto, ON - Country star George Canyon is set to
release his latest album, Classics, (Universal Music Canada) this coming
Tuesday. The album, which features his current release, "Ring of Fire," as
well as 12 other well-loved classics, will hit stores on October 9th, 2007.
Following hot on the heels of his three successful albums, One Good Friend
(2004), Home For Christmas (2005) and Somebody Wrote Love (2006), Classics
is an album that Canyon has always wanted to record. Listening to the
original versions of the songs growing up helped to develop his love for
country music and he stayed true to the classics in his production.
"It was a labour of love to record the songs that influenced me so many
years ago. It was important for me to keep the arrangements true to the
original in the hope that when people listen to this it recreates the magic
I experienced when hearing these songs on the radio the first time round,"
he says.
When Canyon appeared on the first season of USA Network/CMT Canada's
Nashville Star television show, he was thrilled to be able to sing timeless
songs like "Ring Of Fire," "Seven Spanish Angels," and "Kiss An Angel Good
Morning" to delighted TV audiences in both Canada and the US. Those
performances garnered enormous response from fans on his website,
www.georgecanyon.com. The appreciation from audiences continues with
requests for these songs at Canyon's live performances.
The track listing for Classics include popular favourites from George's live
show and his Nashville Star appearances, including: "Ring of Fire," "Seven
Spanish Angels," "Good Ole Boys (Dukes of Hazzard theme)," Luckenbach, Texas
(Back to The Basics of Love)," "Good Hearted Woman," "He Stopped Loving Her
Today," "My Best Friend," "Kiss An Angel Good Morning," "Okie from
Muskogee," "Hello Darlin'," "Release Me," "Folsom Prison Blues," and "The
Battle of New Orleans." Each one of these tracks has a personal meaning to
Canyon.
"Ring of Fire," the first single from the album, was released to radio in
September and has already hit the national airplay chart. The video for the
song debuted on CMT Canada's brand new show, CMT 30, hosted by Paul McGuire,
at 7.30 (ET), Wednesday, October 3rd and will be added into Heavy rotation
on CMT's playlist as of Tuesday, October 9th.
This album is just a part of what Canyon is doing for his fans. This fall
brings Canyon's In A Quiet Room Tour to venues across Canada. The 49-date
tour provides an intimate concert experience for his fans.
All appearances and tour dates are listed on www.georgecanyon.com so be sure
to check often for updates!

Crossin Dixon Says, "Take Me Away to Tunica"
Nashville, TN - Broken Bow recording artists Crossin Dixon just filmed a

campaign for Tunica, MS, the Casino Capital of the South which began airing
this week. Hailing from the cities of Starkville and Jackson, MS, the band
filmed the commercial at Grand Casino Tunica which also features fellow
Mississippi natives
"We're all from Mississippi and this was a great fit. It's something we
wanted to put our name on," said Crossin Dixon lead vocalist Jason Miller.
The band's new single, "Make You Mine" can be found on their forthcoming
debut release from Broken Bow Records, produced by Michael Knox (producer of
Jason Aldean's platinum selling self-titled debut CD Jason Aldean and his

KEVIN FOWLER PLAYS FIRST-EVER BIG STATE FESTIVAL IN COLLEGE STATION
First Single Remains at Top of Texas Music Chart
AUSTIN, Texas -- Equity Music Group country recording artist Kevin Fowler,
whose single "Long Line of Losers" is enjoying its third straight week at
the very top of The Texas Music Chart, will play the first-ever Big State
Festival, October 13-14 in College Station, with such veteran and new
classic and alt-country music stars as Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Lynyrd
Skynyrd, Lyle Lovett, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert.
Fowler plays 2-3 p.m. Sunday, October 14, on the Big State Festival's Toyota
Tundra Stage at Texas World Speedway in College Station. Tickets and
information: www.bigstatefestival.com. The festival is to feature 50 acts on
five stages, a children's stage, stock car racing, cooking demos and a
world-class BBQ cook-off.
"Long Line of Losers," Fowler's clever lament about family bloodline ("half
outlaws, half boozers"), soared to the top of The Texas Music Chart in just
six short weeks, setting a Chart speed record for such a climb. Fans love it
so much, it's been played more than 145,000 times at
www.myspace.com/kevinfowler.
"Long Line of Losers" is one of the more traditional working-class country
songs on Fowler's just released BRING IT ON (Equity Music Group; September
25). But he added a blast of hard rock echoing from his days in Texas metal
band Dangerous Toys -- screaming guitar, a heavy drum beat, an energy
evoking his live shows -- that is exciting fans. One writer calls the
combination a melding of "Metallica to Merle Haggard."
Right now, Fowler is touring the region behind the release, with dates
across Texas to take new cuts like "Best Mistake I Ever Made," "Me and The
Boys" (a duet with George Jones), the title track and "Long Line of Losers"
to "Fowler Fanatics" and new devotees. He'll spend New Year's Eve putting on
a spectacular show at Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth.
Kevin Fowler Upcoming Shows include:
October 3, Texas Rice Festival, Winnie/Stowell Park, Winnie
October 6, Heart O' Texas Complex, Waco
October 13, Brazoria County Fair, Angleton,

THE GRASCALS NAMED BLUEGRASS ENTERTAINERS OF THE YEAR
NASHVILLE, TENN. (October 5, 2007)-Rounder recording group The Grascals
earned their second consecutive Entertainer of the Year award at the 18th
Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry
House last night.
"This is even sweeter the second time around, if that's possible," said
Grascals vocalist and guitarist Jamie Johnson. "We're out here doing what
we love every day. Thank you all very much." Johnson also acknowledged
each of the other nominees in the category-Cherryholmes, Alison Krauss &
Union Station, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Del McCoury Band and Rhonda
Vincent & The Rage-as well as Ricky Skaggs and the Osborne Brothers.
Several of The Grascals worked for the legendary duo, and Sonny Osborne
presented the Entertainer of the Year award.
"We wouldn't be doing what we do if it weren't for the Osborne Brothers,"
said Johnson.
The Grascals' two Rounder releases--their self-titled 2005 debut and the
chart-topping Long List of Heartaches, released in 2006-were both nominated
for a Grammy® for Best Bluegrass Album. The Grascals were named IBMA's
Entertainer of the Year in 2006, one year after taking home Emerging Artist
of the Year and Song of the Year honors. They also won Bluegrass Band of
the Year and Instrumental Group of the Year at the SPBGMA Bluegrass Awards
earlier this year. They have made guest appearances on The Late, Late Show
with Craig Ferguson, Opry Live and The John Boy & Billy Big Show, among
others. The Grascals have also just begun a partnership with Mayberry's
Finest, a new brand featuring more than 36 Southern-seasoned food items
inspired by The Andy Griffith Show and reminiscent of Aunt Bee's southern
cooking. The Grascals have been spreading the word about Mayberry's Finest
at tour dates and public appearances and will be featured in print, radio
and television commercials for the food line, which is sponsoring The
Grascals' tour. The band also wrote and recorded the Mayberry's Finest
jingle.
