[RFA News] We're back! Listen to RFA 8.05 24/7
RFA Headquarters / Miami Beach / 20060501
Howdy from a beautiful spring day in Miami Beach. RFA 8.05 and a new video
went live over the weekend. The playlist is below. I'm sure you've been
wondering why we've been so quiet recently. Well, it pretty much boils down
to my occasionally getting very burned out by RFA. Throw in a slew of
techincal issues on the office network (- not the streaming network -),
friggin' everybody (from the federal government to Microsoft) wanting money
from me in April and blah, blah, blah. But I'm feeling rejuvenated, the
network is kinda working and April is over. So here we go.
RFA 8.05: Our latest on-demand web cast is heavy on the electro/industrial
side as it's dominated by Metropolis artists (Das Ich, Mindless Self
Indulgence, Clan of Xymox) and also features bands from the Van Richter
label. Throw in some new material from Phantom Vision, Sapphire Rebellion,
Tolchock & others and it's a very good show. (Of course!) Listen now @
http://www.radiofreeabattoir.com/rfa/asx/rfa.asx . The playlist is below.
ITA 8.04: Our latest on-demand video comes from the German gothic/metal
crossover act SpiRitual. You're either going to love this track or hate it.
That genre doesn't appeal to everyone I know, but this is one song where it
works IMO. And regardless, it's a beautiful video. Watch it now @
http://www.radiofreeabattoir.com/rfa/video.shtml .
Coming up later this week, we'll have new free MP3 downloads, contests and
audio & video download in the RFA shop. I'm still catching up. ;-)
While you're listening to the latest show, why not browse the RFA blog.
That's one thing I have been contributing to here @ RFA HQ over the past
month. Recent hightlights from http://www.radiofreeabattoir.com/blog/
include:
* A review of the new Electro-a-Go-Go: Underland Privat, who have been
putting on dark alt / gothy events in SoFla as long as anyone, have returned
to South Beach.
* Metropolis Records: The US's biggest dark alternative label now has a
digital download service for promotional services. If you're in the
industry, you should check this out.
* A road report from Miss T & the Japanese Tourists: Miss T sent an e-mail
outlining the bands' journey to Germany. It had me in stitches.
* Must-have software - SDP Downloader: This rather complicated but rather
small piece of software allows you to record streaming audio & video. Don't
get so excited. It doesn't exactly work with RFA.
* A review of Fatal Beauty: No, I haven't gotten back into the CD review
thing. FB is an erotic, alternative community a la Suicide Girls.
* The (pending) return of Deathwatch Beetle Repairman: One of RFA's
favorites (and a favorite of our listeners & download customers as well) is
hard at work on the first DBR release since 1999.
* News from the digital world: The DMCA sucks. You might no longer need a
DVR box to record TV. France sticks it to Apple, again.
Amduscia: Absolution
Attrition: The Next Day *
Cesium 137: Agonist
Clan of Xymox: Calling You Out
Covenant: Brave New World
Das Ich: Opferzeit
Death & Horror Inc.: New Vision *
Dust: Cold
Electric Six: Rock and Roll Evacuation
Flesh-Resonance: Deity *
Gary Numan: In a Dark Place
Girls Under Glass: Future Assault *
KEN: Open Fire
Mindless Self Indulgence: Straight to Video
(Combichrist Remix)
Phantom Vision: Until Heaven Sleeps Again
Plastic Noise Experience: Digital Noise *
Pride and Fall: Border (Club Edit)
Sapphire Rebellion: Call to Arms *
Sielwolf: Beweglich Animalisch *
Snog: Crash Crash
Suicide Commando: Blind, Torture, Kill
Testify: White-Skinned Heroine *
The Fair Sex: Not Now, Not Here *
Tolchock: Kiss of Death
:wumpscut:: Recht von Gnade
Xandria: Eversleeping *
* Denotes a track or album available for download via RFA's digital download
service @ http://shop.radiofreeabattoir.com/ .
That's it for today. Have a great week and stay groovy.
