ANN: Gigs in Edinburgh: Carol Laula (tomorrow 19/9) and Gavin Moore (18/10)
Hey everyone, it's that time of year again - the air is getting cooler,
the leaves are thinking of turning, and Juniper Promotions is putting
on some great gigs you want to go to ;) I'm not paid by the company,
but I love the gigs and my dear friend Jan only puts on fab acts :)
Friday 19 September: Carol Laula plus special guest Amy Duncan

What can Juniper say about Carol Laula that hasn't already been
said - just to give a couple of examples, the Glasgow Herald have
called her "Scotland's leading singer-songwriter" and the Aberdeen
Press and Journal wrote: "How she still seems to have escaped
superstardom is beyond me." Funny, smart and passionate (just
check out her website diary if you don't believe us), Carol makes
her audiences feel like part of the family and her live shows are
always something special. For this gig, she will also be sharing
songs from her latest album which should be available for sale.
Definitely one not to miss.
Saturday 18 October: Gavin Moore plus special guest

Gavin Moore returns to Edinburgh in 2008 on the heels of another
successful Clonakilty Guitar Festival in West Cork, with new songs
(and hopefully a new album) to share with the Juniper audience.
He may be part of an Irish musical dynasty as nephew of both
Christy Moore and Luka Bloom, but he is forging his own path both
musically and lyrically. Recently, he has toured Australia and
Germany as well as the UK and Ireland, and still made time locally
for the famed De Barras Sitting Room Sessions and the Cork X
Southwest Festival. Siobhan Long of the Irish Times said of
Gavin's last album, "Theres an honesty and freshness in the
production of Until Today
this Moore is one with his eye on his
own prize. Adept at tackling lifes grander questions, including
those of personal identity and survival, with a fine pop sensibility."
Both gigs are at Cabaret Voltaire, Blair Street, Edinburgh and are
early shows, with 7pm doors. Further information on gigs/tickets
can be found from the Juniper website:

Hope to see you there - I will happily vouch for the wonderful-ness
of both these artists :D
Cheers, Paula
