GIG REMINDER: Carol Laula (30 May), Duncan Chisholm/Ivan Drever (2 June)
Hi there, hope this reminder isn't too late for everyone out there to catch
some great gigs in Edinburgh put on by Juniper Promotions!

Don't miss this one TONIGHT - Wednesday 30 May, Juniper welcomes
the return of Carol Laula. Scotland is famed the world over for its exports
and one of its finest has to be this singer-songwriter. With "a style which
bobs around somewhere between the sweet, clear delicacy of Joni
Mitchell and the tougher edges of Joan Armatrading", it's not surprising
that she has done so well for herself. She first captivated the media and
her audience in 1990, when her independent single "Standing Proud" was
chosen to represent Glasgow in its year of culture. And she is still going
strong today, having released her most recent album "Kitchen Stories" in
2006. Although her albums capture her incredible tone and clarity, again
it's when you see her perform live that you truly appreciate her talent and
gorgeous personality. Find out more at her website:

And this weekend, on Saturday 2 June, Duncan Chisholm and Ivan Drever
will play their first gig for Juniper. Ivan and Duncan are established as one
of Scotland's top duo's, playing mainly traditional venues and festivals across
the UK, Europe and recently the USA. They met during their time in the Scottish
band Wolfstone. Ivan has recorded a host of albums both solo and with other
performers, and his songs have been recorded by an impressive list of artists
and indeed one, co-written with Duncan, was featured in the Robin Williams film
"Good Will Hunting". Duncan was a Mod Medal winner and during the last five
years has appeared with a number of Scottish artists both live and on recordings
as a guest. He continues to work with Wolfstone as well as his work with Ivan
and the Blazing Fiddles. We are glad to welcome them to Juniper. See their
websites for further information:

Both shows are at Cabaret Voltaire - and please remember they start EARLY,
doors open at 7pm. Up-to-date details about all Juniper gigs (including
contact telephone numbers and how to get tickets) can be found at the
Juniper websites:

Hope to see you there? :)

Cheers,
Paula
