You aren't up to date on More 4 episodes then. About 4 episodes back Josh
and Toby went to visit Alan Alda's character to ask him to be ambassador to
the UN. He turned it down because he said he had something else in mind.
Then on the next (I think) episode Josh saw the Alan Alda character
announcing his candidacy on TV, which was the spur to get Josh to go to
Texas to ask Santos to stand.

If you want to see him act presidential, he plays the president in Canadian
Bacon.
Seriously, his character in WW would make a good president. Just not
necessarily the best out of the 2 candidates.
