More4 question
I'm back again - can someone tell me how far into Season 6 More4 is? I've
just got myself a Freeview box and, as I can now receive More4, I'd like to
know how much catching up I need to do!

Re: More4 question
Looking at www.radiotimes.com it seems they've only 3 episodes to go to the
end.

Re: More4 question
Rats! Thanks for the info - I don't suppose there are any plans that anyone
knows about for More4 or E4 or (prepares for stunned silence) C4 to repeat
S6 are there.

Thought not. Oh well - I'll have to save up for the DVD's.

If your VCR has 2 SCART sockets, run a second SCART lead from the digibox
to the VCR. The input channel to the VCR will be one of the AUX channels
(mine is L-1).

THat's the only way I managed to set mine up to record.

Thanks but I already did that (the manual pointed this out and being an
oddity in IT, I actually DID RTFM!)
I can record the analogue channels as before - the Digibox has an RF Loon -
what I can't work out is how to record the Digital only channels - I assume
I have to set one of the stations on the VHS to see the box but, without the
VHS manual, I can't remember how to set up the stations!
No biggie - at least I can GET the additional channels (when it's not
raining that is)

It took me several goes at reconfiguring the various combinations of
cables before I got it right. I did try to get the VCR to find the
digital channels through the RF loop, but it didn't work. Each of the TV,
VCR & Digibox are connected by SCART to the other two items. The analogue
channels are recorded in the old way and the extra channels via the AUX
input.

The other option is to try searching for the VCR manual online. I guess
that depends on how recent the model is or whether it's still available.
I managed it for my DVD player a few years ago.

You won't be able to get the VHS to change channels on your Freeview box
so you either need to make sure the Freeview box is already tuned to
More4 before the recording starts or use the timed programmer on the
Freeview box to switch to More4 in time to record (not sure if you get
this with Freeview - we pay the Sky tax to Murdoch and our Sky box can
be programmed to switch channels as programmes start so all we need is
the video to start recording the Aux channel at the same time).

Try typing the model make, number and manual into Google and see what
that turns up, half the time I manage to get a copy of the manual as a
..pdf that the manufacturer or some kind soul has put up on the web.

Re: More4 question
Fenny, Andrew, thanks for the help!
The VCR is rather ancient (well, it's over 10 years old) and a cursory look
via Google doesn't show anything - but I was constitrating on something else
at the time so I'll have another go later!
Yes, my Freeview box (a Bush) DOES offer timers - I couldn't quite work out
WHY, but now I know!

Re: More4 question
But note they're going straight into Series 7 on More 4 without a break.

Re: More4 question
Thanks for the heads up, Georgie! It's looking like I'll be getting the
Season 6 DVD's (Amazon have them at a reasonable price and I have a lot of
left over Amazon vouchers from surveys etc.!) so, hopefully, I'll be able to
catch up before S7 starts.

It was odd, it has to be said, watching the episode on More4 last night (the
main reason for getting the Freeview box was More4 and BBC4 and, in the
summer, FilmFour) having not seen any of the earlier episodes - I had to
'phone a friend to get a brief summary of "The Story So Far". It felt like
a completely different show (which to some extent, of course, it is!)
