TWW S7 question
So I finally got the Season 7 DVD box set at the weekend (Amazon were doing
a decent price and I had some vouchers - all I now need is for Season 2 to
get reduced to the same or similar price and I'll have the lot on DVD!) and,
obviously, I spent the entire weekend watching it (I had a cold and needed
comfort TV!) The thing is, the version of "The Debate" on the DVD seems
different to the version More4 ran - the DVD states it is the "West Coast"
version - now, I understand that for a live episode such as "The Debate",
there needs to be two runs for the different US time zones, but is it
possible that the UK broadcast version was the East Coast transmission?
There were a couple of bits on the DVD that I don't remember from the TV run
(though I'll have to dig out my off-air recordings to confim this!)
Au Res.,
Paul (hoping S60 gets a DVD release sometime soon...)

I think I knew at the time which version was shown over here, but I've
forgotten. I did have both copies, but seem to only have one now (which
isn't labelled, so I don't know whether it's east or west).

S60 DVDs are out in Leftpondia on 16th Oct.
http://www.amazon.com/Studio-60-Sunset-Strip-
Complete/dp/B00005JPI6/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-9959648-1849563?ie=UTF8
&s=dvd&qid=1190758432&sr=8-1
At $41.99 (plus shipping), it's probably cheaper than waiting, as long as
you have a multi region DVD player.

This got me googling (but without an answer to the actual question...) and
answered a question I recall posing here a couple (or more?) years ago. A
colour supp article on TWW had included photos showing 35mm film cameras,
and I was intrigued. Why would they do that, for something to be shown on
telly, and with (often) little time for editing before transmission. I
deduced the cameras were actually part of the set and that the whole thing
was actually taped.
However, this (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0745691/trivia - but maybe don't
look til you've seen 7/7) does indeed say it's done (apart from live debate,
of course) on 35mm.
Anyone know if this is true and, if so, why?
(Sorry for surfeit of parentheses above - and here....)
