What business about the script? Do you mean the page layout - 40 second
vs half hour format?

Saw this a while back, so memory a bit hazy, but I think it referred to the
size of paper used for a "pilot" script, as opposed to subsequent episodes.
The pilot page was smaller, so running time (based on number of pages)
turned out to be wrong. Sumfink like that, I think... others here will know
better....

Print layout, rather than size of paper, IIRC. But the control room will
know how long each page of script should take and will base their
calculations accordingly.

Ricky & Ron had been printing a show in half hour format, rather than the
40 second/page that S60 were used to. So everything finished earlier than
it should.

Giles: Actually, I feel quite well. Except for the rage.

Ah - thanks for that. I just hope I'm not alone in always needing to watch
sorkin more than twice to "get it".... :-)))

I'm still "getting" bits of TWW, even though I've seen most of it an awful
lot more than twice. There's so much packed into it that there's always
another little bit to get.

I think the bit that I was getting confused about was that I thought they
were talking about 40 min per page and that seemed a bit daft.

I understood the consequences of the mistake once I realised that it was
only one page that was affected. At first I couldn't understand why it
didn't finish 10 mins early and why no one had noticed earlier!

These are the bits people complain are too "inside baseball". But nobody
ever had any problems with all the stuff in TWW about bills getting marked
up in committee, or whatever. It's just the lingo and once you suss that
there's a problem and what the consequences are, it really doesn't matter.
Especially as Aaron is going to tell you half a dozen times that there's a
problem and what the consequences are. He just doesn't explain the
problem that much.

What I don't get is that if the whole show was written in the wrong
format, how come Cal and Danny didn't notice a lot earlier than when there
were prayers for peace in the Mid West? There are several ad breaks in
the show, so these should have alerted them to the problem.
