Nobody ever posts here anymore, so you're not lokely to get a reply other
than this. I'd suggest trying news:alt.tv.twenty-four

So far I think it is one of the best, I won't give reasons, incase there are
any Sky one viewers here, but yeah, I'm loving it.

Sorry, I forgot it had started here, I'm downloading it and am on episode 7.
I didn't really like e1 as it didn't seem right, killing off two of the main
characters, but it does get better.

I thought it was an amazing start - It was almost as though the show's
director wanted to begin with a (nearly) clean slate! Familiar characters
whom you would have gotten to know very well from the previous four seasons
getting wiped out in under ten minutes. Grabbed my attention!

I'm not sure if I heard the voice-over at the end of the second episode
correctly - Are Sky showing another two episodes together next Sunday too?

In the US, e1 and 2 were shown on one day, then e3 and 4 the next, so sky
one might be doing that.

Well, Manny Coto is involved this year, as well as Brad Wright (Stargate
SG1) so it *has* to be good :-)

Yes ... episodes 3 and 4 are on Sky One on Sunday 19 February. After that
it reverts to one episode a week, although didn't they do a double
episode for the final two of the last series?

Not intruding at all, welcome to the group, but please be aware that this
is a uk group and as such we have only seen episodes 1 and 2 of series 5 so
far.

Yeah, they did and I was wondering if Sky were eager in some way to
accelerate the show's air time to free it up for some reality show or other
by the summer. Did season 4 air on Sundays too, or was it Monday nights? I
can't remember now.

That's probably the case. I was hoping that Sky would revert to one episode
a week so that there would still be something worth watching by the summer.

No. Season 4 "first showing" on Sky was also on Sundays, with repeats on
Monday and various other nights. I think that Season 3 may have been
Thursdays, but I really can't remember.

No, definitely Thursdays. I know this because as Seasons 3 and 4 were not
shown on BBC2, I was taping it from Sky One for a work colleague, whose
part time contract meant she did not work on Fridays, but she used to pop
in especially to pick up the tape each week.

It's the little details that help you prove you're right.

*You* may have been taping season 4 on Thursdays, but the first showing
was definitely on Sundays. If you look at Google - see
http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.media.tv.misc/browse_thread/thread/be
13a921f5c7269f/a3f807952ff60b1d?lnk=st&q=24+season.4+OR+day.4+group%
3Auk.media.*&rnum=55&hl=en#a3f807952ff60b1d - you will see the discussion
about the awful "pun" in Sky's advertising for last year.
Their lead-in was all about "30-1-05=24", and it started on 30th January
2005...

As I said in my last post, I think that Season 3 quite possibly was
Thursdays, but not last year!
