Ive seen the humax foxsat hd freesat box and is this USALS
Ive also seen the arian hd box and is this epg freesat
The thing is I want the epg from freesat but I also want the ability
to use the standard epg system that comes from foreign hd channels

should I wait till a suitable reciever comes out.

You could be waiting for ever. Freesat is a consortium which has come 
together to promote their channels via sat. They are not promoting FTA in 
it's entirity. Indeed the "commercial" channels want you watch programs on 
their channels and "see" the adverts. They also have paid for the UK 
braodcasts rights for programs which they expect to pay for through the 
adverts. They don't want you wandering off to see the same programs on other 
FTA channels who don't have UK broadcast rights. FTA has to be paid for some 
how.
