Great moments: The Doctor using his regeneration energy to heal himself,
then diverting the rest of the energy into his severed hand (from the
Christmas Invasion of about 2 years ago) so as not to change his form.
Since the Doctor did go through a regeneration cycle, does he now have
only 2 regenerations left? (Limiting the series to just 2 more Doctor).

The Time Lords, who had the power to limit the number of regenerations, have
gone. The regeneration limit may have gone with them.

I'm not sure the TLs had the "power" to limit the number if regenerations,
they just gave individuals a set of lives. In "Five Doctors" the Time Lords
offered the Master a new set of lives in exchange for his help, which I
assume is a standard pack of 13 lives. Of course, the Master certainly
circumvented the limit, having a few lives beyond the limit, but...

11, 12 and 13th to come henece 2 more regenerations and 3 Doctor to go.
This is why I say Gallifrey needs to be restored somehow.
12 th Doctor + Valeyard = 13 th Doctor (last Doctor).

A strong possibility. Still 12th Doctor + Valeyard = 13th Doctor.

I've always said that if I were to write out a solution to how the Doctor
could circumvent the limit of only 12 regenerations, I'd have the Time Lords
being brought back by the Doctor and have Doc rewarded with either a new set
of lives (like the Master was in "Five Doctors") or given an unlimited
amount of lives.

Well, the Master got resurrected. Still I liked the fact the 2 Time Lords
were somewhat disjoint on the Time Line.

Doesn't take any great effort to write it, really. Can start with
just ignoring that it ever existed. Or, for dramatic tension have him
dying, Jack there to tell everyone there's only 13 lives, he's done..
and then have him regenerate and say that was just Time Lord custom, not
physical law or anything.

Yes. Maybe. He was.

This would mean that the Time Lords CAN be immortal without having to become
statues (as happened with one Time Lord at the end of "The Five Doctors").

Or, since the Doctor wiped out the Time Lords in the Time War he has
gained all their remaining lives. The dramatic tension still works.

In theory, a second tornado through a distroyed town can throw everything
back together again, likewise a thousand monkeys on typewriters can
eventually write a book. But asking Yads to write something relevant?
Now you are just being silly!
A discussion on Doctor Who, Yads is more likely to say "I like cheese"
then anything on topic. Likewise, if the topic was ever to be about
cheese, Yads would talk about peanut butter instead...

Around. Battening down the hatches before Edouard blows through. Latest
tracking shows him just barely missing me to the north. Looks like he's
just come ashore and is already running out of gas.

Oh jeez.
Ok, see... climb into the Way Back Machine, and we'll take you back
to a time when Rose looked into the heart of the Tardis, and became like
a goddess, and goddess Rose resurrected Jack.
But goddess Rose was new to the goddess business, and it went a
little overboard, so now Jack resurrects every time he dies. Thousands
of times, thousands of years, painfully resurrecting each time he dies.
Any of this ring a bell?
