So all that stuff about David Tennant wanting to do Shakespeare?
So all of that stuff about DT wanting to quit and concentrate on honing
his Shakespeare was crap? What about all of that stuff they said about
there being a one year hiatus of production on Doctor Who? Also bullshit?

Er, no. The show is on hiatus for a year (four specials in 2009 instead
of a full series) so that David Tennant can spent time working with the
Royal Shakespeare Company.
What made you think this wasn't true?

Well, the fact that David didn't actually leave like the rumours said
earlier in the season.

Maybe you should listen to the BBC instead of rumours :)
BBC reveals Doctor Who 'gap year'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6976178.stm
The facts have always been that Tennant is taking next year off so the
show is skipping a year. Tennant will appear as the Doctor in 2009's
specials. The show will return with a full series in 2010 - maybe with
Tennant, maybe not. I don't think even Tennant or Moffat are sure yet.
The only time I heard rumours about Tennant leaving now were during the
week following the fake regeneration at the end of The Stolen Earth.

Indeed there has been a lot written about David leaving but that has all
been rumour and conjecture. However what has been written about there being
a "gap" year is correct and as above is sourced directly from the BBC.

He may not have left in person but he appears to have left in spirit. Why
else would he revert to his native Scottish accent during the last episode?
It was the Doctor he was supposed to be playing wasn't it and not Macbeth?

Can't say that I noticed him reverting to his native accent, can you tell me
which scene that was and I will re-watch it?

It was most noticeable during the final scene between the Doctor and Wilf.
If you didn't notice it's either because you're Scottish yourself or you
weren't paying much attention.

It's very noticeable in his farewell scene with Wilf.

I have just re-watched the bit at the end with Wilf and although I can kinda
see where you are coming from on his accent, I would hardly say he is
reverting to his natural accent.

Maybe (to paraphrase Ecclestone's Dr) most planets have a Scotland?? ;-)
