Isaiah 40:22 NIV

"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like 
grasshoppers.  He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads 
them out like a tent to live in."

The reference is to a circle, a two-dimensional FLAT object.  Also note 
the use of "canopy" and "tent".  These references make no sense if used to 
enclose a spherical object, only a flat one.

"He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth 
over nothing."

Spreading the northern sky over nothing would make no sense unless the 
earth stoped to the north.  As such, the sky in that direction would be 
over nothing.  If the earth was round, any sky you see would be "over" 
some part of the earth, there would be some location where you could look 
straight up and see it.  As such, the earth is STILL flat.

Suspending the earth is interesting, only in the fact that the earth 
should be "on" something.  Suspending the earth over nothing simply means 
that it's floating in free space, and does NOT automagically mean it's 
spherical.
