The fortune teller said to Donna "What are you? What will you be? What will
you be?"

Or maybe she said, "what will you, bee?"

Is Donna a bee? Maybe she's the queen of bees. Maybe she is made up of all
the bees that have been disappearing.

And what exactly does she will?

Remember, you herd it hear first.

I have to say I'm wondering just where the bees are going to fit in.
At least it's a bit more inventive than past season catchphrases.

Well, Donna is a courtesy title (in Italy) for a woman of rank, similar
to Lady so-and-so. A Noble Lady could be a Queen, I suppose.

It's possible, of course, that RTD is going turn it into an important
plot pojnt, but the disappearance of the bees is a genuine scientific
phenomenon.

True, but on the subject of story arcs you brought up in another
thread, one of the good things about this one is that it makes sense
in isolation in a way that "Bad Wolf" or "Mr Saxon" don't. It can just
be taken as a passing comment about bees, which as others have pointed
out is really happening in reality (although to honeybees, not the
bumblebees Sylvia mentions - which are in decline for the usual
reasons of habitat loss and climate change).

Didn't you know? There's no such thing as bees, they're just
miniaturised Daleks in fancy dress, a clever ruse to escape the Time
War. The buzzing is them crying "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" from
bodies a centimetre long (or it could be "POLLINATE! POLLINATE!" It's
hard to be sure), and the sting is a small Dalek gun.
