It's actually part of Leviticus known as the "Holiness Code". If you
want to obey all of it you'd better get used to the idea of stoning
your kid to death if he's a pain in the tonsils. In fact the Old
Testament mentions gay sexual activity 5 times, but on the other 4
occasions the ban is on sexual activity in association with worship of
idols, and heterosexual activity is similarly banned.
The New Testament may refer to it 4 times, but on 2 occasions the word
used (arsenokoites) is of highly questionable meaning and may have been
coined by Paul himself. Whatever the case, it is an example of 'hapax
legomena' - a word for which we have only one or two examples of usage.
