I was all set to be there, then I get a call to say that one of my
colleagues is in hospital with what looks to be a fairly terminal
illness. He is getting on, and has had a good innings, but it was still
something of a shock. I needed to be on hand, although in the event I
wasn't needed further that day.
Something has occurred today, in the last hour or so, but that is more a
matter of dealing with something he was otherwise going to do, nothing
more than that.
