REMINDER: Transatlantic Make-Up Holiday Point (London, March 18)
"The Arubylon Project was a beach given form . . . ."

This is a reminder that a Transatlantic Make-Up Holiday Point will take
place in London at The White Swan, 14 Vauxhall Bridge Road, on the
evening of Saturday, March 18, in observance of Flag Day, the national
holiday of Aruba.

Those who need to brush up their knowledge of Aruba may consult
<http://geography.about.com/library/cia/blcaruba.htm>. Although Aruba
is an autonomous member of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the
knowledge of English there is sufficiently widespread that it will not
be necessary to speak Dutch at the Point.

Of course, if anyone who has studied the Dutch subtitles on the Babylon
5 DVDs cares to deliver one of the opening-credits voiceover monologues
in Dutch, you are certainly free to do so. I have no doubt you will
perform with die meeste ende die natuereelste beweechgelickheijt.
(Spot that reference!)

Directions: The White Swan is located about 100 yards from the Pimlico
Tube station (Victoria Line). Exit the station to Bessborough Street
and follow its curve to the left to Vauxhall Bridge Road. Cross
Vauxhall Bridge Road, and you're at The White Swan. (If you arrive via
bus or train at Victoria Station, then instead of taking the Tube one
stop to Pimlico, you can proceed along Vauxhall Bridge Road toward the
Thames until you reach The White Swan. It will be on your left, just
past Regency Street.)

Please remember that the staff at The White Swan turn grouchy at the
sight of customers consuming foodstuffs not provided by the pub's
kitchen--so, please, leave your Vorlon fortune cookies at home.

Be seeing you!

I shall do my best to be there - not sure what's involved in helping to
tidy up after these anti-war marches, so can't guarantee a time.

Just make sure the place doesn't look like a battlefield when you're done.

(Not talking about the Point, obviously.)

What's the kickoff time for this momentous event?

Well as I remember said events, (reaches back into deepest
memories...has it really been that long!)

Whatever time the pub:

a. Has opened
b. Has served beer to at least 1 Babbler
c. Has, ideally, more than one babbler in there that having recognised
another has begun chatting about "old times"

so roughly anytime from 11am then <-:

Really must get down to the smoke sometime soon!

People start to turn up from 6 onwards. Kev and I will probably get
there around 7ish.

As an aside, I have a bash at 8:30-ish on the Saturday now, so I shan't
be there all evening, but will endeavour to pop in and say hello at
least! (Translation: shan't consume more than a half-dozen pints before
leaving early <g>)

Re: REMINDER: Transatlantic Make-Up Holiday Point (London, March 18)
(Crosses fingers that Google Groups lets him post)

I'm not going to be able to make this as it clashes with Alina's Water
Polo club annual dinner.

So I'll be cracking out the posh togs and getting my groove on down
Teddington way.

See you guys next time I hope....

And sadly I've just discovered that Alice has a band [1] rehearsal that
evening, so I'll be home minding the kid. Have a great (Transatlantic)
evening!
