I heard a snippet of this in this evening BBC news. He was trying to
catch a taxi or something?
Maybe I got it wrong.

From what onlookers have said he seemed to have some kind of dizzy spell,
staggered somewhat, and fell into the road in front of a van.

Perhaps someone will dust off some episodes of Chelmsford 123, one of
Hat trick's best ever shows

This is sad, sad news, as others have said before me. This was a wonderfully
talented man. His passing is a huge blow to comedy.

Presumably not with the episode that begins with the end of a previous
announcement,
"...and hold the pillow over the face until dead.... Next on Radio 4,
it's KYTV..."

That's bad news. From what I remember of him as a performer on-screen, he was
a sort of witty but competely non-snide Deayton-type performer, which wasn't
a bad combination.
But "dizzy spell"?
Is that the new version of "tired and emotional"?

He produced all but the first episode of Hitch-Hiker's. Even if he had
done nothing else, that would be enough to confer Greatness on him
IMO.

I like Simon Cowell. He knows what he wants and he knows how to get it.
For as much as I hated the 'music' of Robson & Jerome, I saw him talking about
the fact he was responsible for them and that whereas he'd normally have a cap
on his commission, he asked his bosses at the time to forget his initial fee
and just get rid of the cap on his commission. He made a fucking fortune. Very
acute business sense.

Possibly, but doesn't really strike me as the type... at that time in
the morning it sounds like he was just going to work as normal. No
doubt the post mortem will reveal all, though; may just be that he had a
brain haemmorage or something and his time was just up.

You'r probably right.
And now that I see that the incident happened at the end of the morning rush
hour (rather then at, say 01:00), I'm sorry I raised it.

She was always insane when in power. The only difference now is that
