BBC News - Kids Passing Exams
Why do they only show clips of mostly girls screaming and hugging each
other in rapture after opening their results to reveal all straight A*
grade passes?
How about giving us a nice clip of some over confidant sod opening the
envelope to reveal all Ds?

They ask the headmaster for a selection of pupils to film.
The headmaster picks the brightest 'safe-bet' pupils so as not to show
the school in a bad light.
The TV company picks the most photogenic from the selection who are also
least likely to moon the camera.
Obvious when you think about it.

What is more scary is that you can get three quaters of the paper wrong and
still get a C. No wonder more kids are getting C passes or above when they
only need to get a quater of the paper correct. Diabolical.

because it is literally impossible to score anything below a 'B' or a 'C'
grade unless the student is severly mentally retarded , these exams are so
fucking easy any monkey can get an 'A'.

I saw that. Top marks (A star) is given for getting just 65%! and an A
grade for 51%! So you get half the questions wrong, which you could
probably do by guesswork, and get an A?!

I see that the teacher has marked the actual position of the X with a
red pen but I don't know how
anyone would have been able to guess it correctly. But then I'm crap
at Spot the Ball too.

Doesn't it depend on how hard the questions are? When I took GCSE maths in
1995 my class (top set of 10 in the year) had a choice of higher (where you
could get grades A - C) or higher extension (A* - B). I didn't do too well
with some of the coursework but I shut the teacher up by getting an average
of 94% on the 2 mock papers and an A overall.
Sample Edexcel papers at http://www.edexcel.org.uk/quals/gcse/maths/lm/ab/.
It surprises me just how much stuff there is *only* used in maths lessons.
