If The Wire series was done as a comedy, who would you cast as Bunk
and McNulty?
If HBO's The Wire series was done as a comedy film, which two actors
you
admire, would you choose to play the McNulty and Bunk roles and
please
say why.

The two blokes who play them in the actual series. Their methods of
delivery, especially Bunk, are very dry and humourous at times, making
the show pretty funny as you get to know the characters well.
'I knew it was your first time. I wanted to make that shit
special' (Bunk, 1st series)
'There were two of them, I was outnumbered' (McNulty, 2nd series)

Why would you change actors? They worked comedically as well as
dramatically.

Jim Carey and Eddie Murphy because if you're going to tamper with
perfect casting, you might as well go all the way into the realm of
the horrendous and gruesome.

Are you suggesting that The Wire wasn't a comedy all along?

I find the whole show a bit strange. Not sure if it's trying to be
funny or if it's funny because the acting is so bad. They try to make
it a bit edgy & gritty by throwing in a few beatings and a obscenities
but it comes across almost as pantomine.
I've got season 1 on dvd if anyone wants it.
