The Germans did this sort of thing quite a lot, especially on the Eastern 
front. There were whole formations of Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks pressed 
into German service after their capture, although usually in a support role.

Elsewhere I found a photo similar to Krusty's that said it was taken in Saar
another similar one was taken in St Vith.

Note it says on the website - the tank is librally covered in german 
markings! - I wouldn't have wanted to be in that with Tiger tanks around 
better gun or not!
