Group Trolls Dissected
"Troll--An individual who regularly posts specious arguments, flames,
or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for
no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion.
Trolls
are recognizable by the fact that they have no real interest in
learning
about the topic at hand--they simply want to utter flame bait. Like
the
ugly creatures after which they are named, they exhibit no redeeming
characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of
life on the Net."
Number of times Plowman / Spud / Dr Colon Turner have 'trolled' an on
topic discussion just to snipe at me or others in the last week: 142
Percentage of Plowman / Spud / Dr Colon Turner's posts that have been
positive on topic posts rather than negative trolling snipes in same
period: 18%
Ratio of my responses to their attempts to attract attention: 1 in 12
posts i.e. 8%
These are facts. The figures were obtained from the Krustov Foundation
For Internet Science. (Or maybe they weren't.)
Conclusion: these people are trolls who have far less interest in
tennis, football, music, comedy or TV drama than they do in starting
or perpetuating arguments. Their behaviour is discussed here:
http://www.virtualschool.edu/mon/SocialConstruction/Logic.html
So, should they be shot or just have their internet connections
terminated?
NB. Messrs Col and Mickey Adams are ventriloquist trolls wearing
disguises so would skew the figures. Alan "The Gimp" Hope's absence is
attributable to his finding love in other usenet newsgroups. Osc and
Viv are just plain stupid.

Nice try, conehead, but you should really stick to creepy stalking.

And just what the hell is *that* supposed to mean?
It was only the other week that you considered me a
'neutral' in all this, now I'm a troll with someone's hand
up my arse, I don't know what's changed.
You know, I always tried to be fair by you, I really have.
Yes, I've strongly critisised your off-line activities yet
I havent indulged in the outright abuse others have given
you and responded 'normally' to many of your posts.
And yet you call me a troll.
Well you know what Barker, you can go and *fuck* yourself.

You've really not been following this, have you?
I'll leave it to those directly involved to give the details but it
involves things like writing to peoples' employers in order to
get them sacked. It's as serious as that.

(Calm down, dear, it's only an advert.)
Ahem, I called you the ventriloquist not the dummy. You and Adams
quite mischievously wind people up just for fun. That's my point. You
have confessed to having done this several times; Adams never admits
to doing it, but he still does it, quite regularly.
By all means, do leap to erroneous conclusions and hurl abuse around,
that's your perogative, but please take that wonky old 'stalker'
record off the turntable will you? I really do not care one mote of
dust what a half dozen UMTM brawlers think about my policy of stirring
up trouble for people who are so unkind and nasty as to disparage my
family or libel me by way of supposed "on topic discussion" (just as I
no longer care about the ridiculous exaggerations that have been made
about anything I may have done).
Plowman, Spud and Hopeless are rancorous and bitter old hypocrites
whose only joy in life stems from endless and ridiculous internet
argument. I couldn't give a damn if they lost their homes, careers or
families as a result of their pathetic online behaviour, and nor do I
give a damn about what you think about my stance. My only reaction to
the whole thing is one of utter boredom. That's why I'm far happier
engaging in banter with other UMTMers, the UMTMers who stick to the
issues under discussion and don't immediately launch a vitrilioc and
unceasing offensive against anyone who doesn't agree with them.
Hopefully this has clarified things for you.

And yet, the fact that you started this particular thread (among others in
the recent past), belie both these statements. And your previous claims
that you are quite able to simply ignore those who've "wronged" you were
obviously patently false. You really are quite sad.

Just for anyone popping in - it's worth a check of the google groups
archive that barker spent several years trolling this group with his
arguments with some haunted writers society that had snubbed him for
bieng crap. He posted pictures of wives, addresses , personal
information everything . People here got so sick of it that it was
thrown back at him - hence we are at the position we are at now.
Check the archive - barker is a serial liar, he can give it out but
can't take it back.
Beware this man who takes stuff into real life , contacting employers,
MP's, posting addresses, posting all over usenet to get peoples
addresses so he can *go round and sort them out* ( particularly silly of
him as he reckons a man from usenet went round and *glared* at him over
the hedge the poor thing)
A real internet loon is barker!

Assuming all that is completely true and in context, then why not talk to

No need to introduce yourself, old bean: you're known here of old.
If your interpretation of the word 'troll' is correct, then you fit
the bill perfectly. You've posted numerous specious arguments, flames
and personal attacks in the past few weeks, in most cases with
absolutely no purpose other than to annoy people or interrupt
discussions.
> Number of times Plowman / Spud / Dr Colon Turner have 'trolled' an on

So *that's* what you were doing while you were 'ignoring' us: you were
totting up the figures to see how many times we hadn't ignored *you*.
Oh, the lengths one goes to for self-validation. Would that old
Sigmund were still in the realm of the living: he'd be creaming his
tweeds at the thought of getting you on his couch.

There are lies, there and damned lies and then there are statistics.
Also, 42% of all statistics are made up on the spur of the moment.
> Ratio of my responses to their attempts to attract attention: 1 in 12
> posts i.e. 8%
You responded to all of the posts by reading and recording them in
your little book of statistics. That you actually answered only 8% of
them is neither here nor there.
You couldn't do it, could you? You said you'd ignore us, but you just
can't help yourself.

Please, Jacobim, do show where we enjoy endless internet argument.
Everyone here has a laugh and some banter and occasionally disagree.
Read back, see Paul Hyett and me having an argument about
homosexuality. We agree to differ. He didn't write to someone that I
wasn't actually employed by trying to get me sacked or publish my home

continue. You will continue to have your attempts to stir up trouble
in people's lives highlighted at every opportunity. You will continue
to have your utter inability to write a sentence that doesn't induce
comas in the readers pointed out. You will have your utter failure to
get a single piece of work published by a real publisher pointed out.
And when Reggie's next book comes out, ,,,,,,,we're all going to buy
it and we're all going to celebrate when it wins an award.

Hardly. It makes your day I think. I think Rosie hit the nail
perfectly on the head when she described your behaviour on here as one
of futile rage at your life. She said you find yourself trapped in an
awful life and this is your only outlet for your anger and I think she
is correct.

Ah yes, the like big venue or home town thread that you started. Ooh
look at me, I've saved up enough of my wife's money to go to a
theatre. Result. Silence. You chould change your nick to Thread
Killer.
Still, you could always regale us with some more of your wonderous
tales of who your dad knew to keep us going till you actually do
something in 'your' life.
And what about all the threads you have started about people just to
get some attention cos I'm damn sure no-one is giving you any in your
real life.

I don't deliberately wind people up, sure I enjoy the banter but we
all
do that, don't we?
Show me when I have done this, let alone 'confessed' to it.
Good God man, I don't even *need* to wind people up, even if
I wanted to. I can just watch everybody else effortlessly do it to
you.

years now and that must count for something. Sure, I've turned into a
bald, corpulent middle aged bore, and it's true that I have struggled
unsuccessfully to obtain a visa to move to Canada, but that's the
price I am prepared to pay for my dedication. I am not the slightest
bit envious that you have various writing, editing and publishing
projects on the go because I have my Corrie chat site to fall back
upon, and besides, some of my friends quite like my Weatherfield based
puns. Who cares that a couple of your books have been award-nominated
and are highly sought after collector's items? I certainly do - I mean
'don't' - and I will continue to ignore that irritating fact.
You claim to have a novel on the go and to have submitted some scripts
to various production companies. That doesn't bother me in the
slightest either, because I have an exclusive limited edition "Ariel
The Mermaid" crystal ball (erroneously labelled a 'snow globe' by some
fool at Disney) which has accurately predicted that these ventures
will all fail miserably. And even if they don't, I have a box of
matches which says that they may accidentally get burnt. So you see, I
am not in anyway bitter or envious, I am just telling the truth.
UMTM is my very own Rovers Return and you've challenged my position as
a regular of long-standing. I will therefore fight tooth and nail to
maintain control over the stools at the bar. If that involves having
to twist arguments, distort facts and solicit support from fruitcakes,
then so be it. What's more, I reserve the right to post embittered and
obsessive replies to all of your posts and yet still refer to you as
the stalker, because my stalking - erm, I mean 'posting' - is fuelled
by deeply moral and altruistic motives i.e. you make me look stupid
and feel insignificant so I want to drive you out of usenet. And as
for my threat to stick print-outs of UMTM arguments on the lamp-posts
in your street, well, that was clearly just a joke, ha ha ha I'm not
going mad.

Whoa, that's much too long, stalker boy. It's evident from those poorly
constructed and faux-humorous first few lines just how the whole is
going to pan out, so I expect most people will cut to the chase of
abusing you as obviously required...

The smell of desperation in your post could strip paint at fifty
paces. You use an attack on Mike Plowman to flag up, for the umpteenth
time, the fact that you have 'various writing, editing and publishing
projects on the go' and that you have submitted 'some scripts' to
various production companies.
Do you really think that anyone in this group will be impressed by
these endeavours? What in actual fact does it signify? Deep down, I
mean. What does it really tell us about you? Or what do you *want* it
to tell us about you? That you're a talented writer?
Well, while I am no literary critic, and while I have absolutely no
wish to dismiss your stuff out of hand just for the sake of it, I
really must say that what you write *isn't* that good, is it? It's
cliched and it's mediocre, and it bears the stamp of one who tries to
hard to do something at which they will probably never be that good
at. As for editing, well, if your posts are anything to go by, you're
not really that proficient at editing either, are you? I mean, in an
earlier post you used the word 'perogative' when it should have been
'prerogative'; if you can't be arsed to use a spell-checker on a post,
what hope does your editing have? With regard to 'publishing
projects', am I right in presuming that you vanity publish your own
material?
However, it's not your endeavours per se that interest me. What
interests me is why you feel the need to tell us about them ad
nauseam. I'm not being facetious: I really am very interested in what
it is in particular that makes you seek validation with such alacrity.

See, you can just as bad and as suspicious as the others.
I did not waste more than twenty seconds inventing those probably
quite reflective statistics up. What's more, if you read the post
again, you'll see that the whole thing was more than a little
Krustovistic.
But hey, don't let me stand in the way of your lurid speculations.

As a published journalist, I have to say I find Barker's writing laughably
amateurish and his editing skills non-existent. A good sub would hack out
two-thirds of his verbose scribblings before spiking it!

Projects on the go? Big deal. Anyone with a pencil and a scrap of

Your pathetic attack on Mike Plowman is one of the worst cases of

It doesn't even matter to be honest whether you made up the
stats or not. The main point is that you started a new thread
about the posting statistics (real or otherwise) of people you
later claimed you were bored of.
If you are bored of them then why start a thread about them??
Can you really not see the inconcistency in that?

Perhaps that's because you don't have the wit to create your own
ideas?
Bearing in mind you claim to dislike me too, I am rather surprised to
see you fishing around for ways to incite conflict between us, as per

What an unobservant barmpot you are.
I wasn't trying to create an idea. I was referencing a vogon poem
by Douglas Adams. I was demonstrating my excellent memory
for poetry, Vogon and otherwise.
Your oft repeated 'dribbling' jokes, combined with your
relentlessly tedious writing style reminded me of the third most
boring poem in the history of man.(According to DA)
You really incensed me, you know, with your insensitivity
to those of us who have mentally handicapped kids
who dribble.
"Oh blobit of dribble
Oozing from the upturned corner of my mouth
You look to me,
Like you should be,
The thing that dropeth from the cloud
A tiny bit of thee is stuck upon my lip
A little more is stuck up my nose
Some has adhered to my hip
My eyes are open and glassy
My snot is thick and green
And from my ears,
Something obscene appears,
And I think it might be me"

I actually met Douglas Adams 15 years ago at a Cambridge Summer Ball.
I don't think he would believe, for one cotton picking minute, that that
there
would ever be a human being walking the earth who could be so remarkably
alike to his made up vogon character.
I think he'd be elated. He'd LOVE it!!

You're blind as well as stupid.
If you took your blinkers off for one moment to scan the archives
you'll quickly see who constantly baits who. The ratio is about ten to
one i.e. for every post I make in response to their pathetic bleats
for attention, they post ten of their own.

I've noticed you like threatening people. In my case it started with a
threat to talk about me to a charity to which I contribute (you backed
down when I threatened to call your bluff by talking to them about
you); then you threatened me by referring to your "six foot four" tall
husband, implying he could easly sort me out (you dropped this when I
told you that's how tall I am); and then you threatened me with his
working in the legal profession, implying that I had slandered you (I
haven't).
It doesn't take a psychiatrist to spot that either you are hopelesly
insecure or just an old-fashioned bully. But whatever the truth, the
fact remains that you said some rather dismissive and offensive things
about autism.
You are one of those braggart carers that my wife and I occasionally
come across who think they know everything, and that no one has
suffered as badly as they have, etc etc, ad nausuem. You are also a
bully. First you started off saying I probably didn't have any
children with special needs; then you claimed they probably "only" had
something like dyslexia; then you claimed that autism was a trivial
condition. Well, you were clearly talking out of your derriere on
every issue, weren't you?
Now you're threatening me with Vogon poetry because you haven't the
wit to create your own as part of some hypocritical stalking campaign.
Pathetic behaviour, but then again, entirely to be expected. Besides,
you've got to take out your self-centred frustrations on someone I
guess, and I would rather it was me than your poor daughter.
PS. I note that you were curiously AWOL when Michael Adams made
another one of his "dribbling retard" comments recently. You certainly
do appear to have remarkably flexible principles on this issue.

Other fantasy things that Barker has been threatened with:
Light Sabres
Phasers
Thundercats
Herbie the Lovebug
King Kong
Hartley Hare
Those flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz - although to be fair, they are
actually quite scary.

To be brutally honest, I don't remember you telling anybody that you're
six feet four. I didn't get that far.Reading your posts is like

Unreadable.

This man started a thread with my name in it a couple of

I didn't post at all for 11 or 12 days.
Then, when I did, it took him all of 42 minutes to

employers or threaten legal action to take houses and buisnesses ?
(Links available)
In my case it started with a
> threat to talk about me to a charity to which I contribute (you backed
> down when I threatened to call your bluff by talking to them about
> you)
Well thats a 180' twist on what actually happened barmy.
; then you threatened me by referring to your "six foot four" tall
> husband, implying he could easly sort me out (you dropped this when I
> told you that's how tall I am)
More bullshit barker, you were blathering about what you could do ,
making trouble etc and people quite rightly pointed out that rosie
hadn't better give out any address details or you might go round. You
have a past history of asking for addresses so you can go round and
*sort people out*. Rosie pointed out she wasn't worried as she has a big
husband. Your supposed size didn't come into it.
This people will remeber form barker who had a man *glare at him
menecingly over the hedge* what a pathetic wuss. If you are *so* big
barker why didn't you have a word with him rather than coming here
whining about it?

; and then you threatened me with his
> working in the legal profession, implying that I had slandered you (I
> haven't).
>
> It doesn't take a psychiatrist to spot that either you are hopelesly
> insecure or just an old-fashioned bully.
Projecting again barker - only one insecure bully here and thats you,
how many have left this group because of you? How many people have you
harrased into real life?
But whatever the truth, the
> fact remains that you said some rather dismissive and offensive things
> about autism.
>
She said nothing of the sort - if anyone has over egged how bad your
trophy cash cow kids are it's you. Making out you are *caring* all day
then slipping up about them going to school for the day .
> You are one of those braggart carers that my wife and I occasionally
> come across who think they know everything, and that no one has

The only braggart carer anyone here has come across is YOU barker.
You've used it as a trump card here for years.
You are also a
> bully.
Still projecting barker - rosie really has you by the neck doesn't she!
First you started off saying I probably didn't have any
> children with special needs; then you claimed they probably "only" had
> something like dyslexia; then you claimed that autism was a trivial
> condition. Well, you were clearly talking out of your derriere on
> every issue, weren't you?
Well it appears even you can't decide whether they are at home with you
or at school.

How is replying to your pathetic screeds stalking? please explain on
here HOW this is stalking?

Oh real nice barker - equating posting on usenet with abuse of the woman
daughter . You really are a piece of crap aren't you?

But at what time has Michael Adams made such a song and dance about
siuch things? You've made a career on here whining about such things
then go and use them yourself. Don't get mardy when someone points out
your hypocrisy.
