Brooke Kinsella and the knife crime protest
Brooke Kinsella, the sister of stabbing victim Ben Kinsella, has
just appeared on C4 News as she was filmed on that knife crime
protest march that occured in London today. She made a passioned
plea about knife crime, but the thing was she did so while wearing
the most ridiculous oversized white plastic sunglasses I have ever
seen. I just find it hard to take seriously, the comments of
someone wearing something so daft, just because they are fashionable.
Can you imagine Timmy Mallet making the same kind of comments, as
that's the image I had in my head while she was talking!
I wonder if she'll wear some ridiculous attention seeking haute
couture outfit to the funeral?

Re: Brooke Kinsella and the knife crime protest
I suppose I should be more sympathetic, but I do find it so irritating
and offputting when the media goes OTT just because the victim is
related to a minor "celebrity". If an ordinary bloke with no celeb
links gets killed then they couldn't care less.

Let's just hope all of Elton John's relatives are safe.

The sad thing is that it's taken this to get some attention for the situation.
And another sad thing is that the politicians will only do something when it
happens to one of their children.

Why on earth do you imagine that politicians can stop these silly little
children from carrying knives?

Because they run the country and they're the ones who are meant to do things
about problems within it. Who else do you suggest does it?

I know. It reminds me of when Jeremy Hardy said the same thing on his 'Speaks
to the Nation' about another topic, and how there's always people bleating
that *something must be done!*

The politicians caused the problem by abolishing the Police's "stop &
search" policy for being racist. But most of the people who have died as a
result of the abandonment of "stop & search" have been black.

Well what would you suggest we do, nothing at all because the
problem seems too difficult?

What, like Rhys Jones you mean?
OK, that was gun crime but you can see the point.

Does what though?
I'm not really sure what CAN be done - Apart from stopping and
searching EVERYONE and issuing a mandatory prison sentence for
EVERYONE found with a knife. But how much would that cost, and would
civil liberties groups ever let you do it?

Elton and all his friends get stabbed regularly, just not through the

Part of the problem is that they can earn more money living as Gansta,
than they could by any legitimate means.
