Amy Winelake at the Grammys
I'm a bit puzzled about Amy Winelake's awards at the Grammys last night.
She won awards for "Song of the year", "Record of the year" (both for
"Rehab") and "Best new artist".

Why?

I can understand that being so early in the year, the Grammys are awarded
for achievements in 2007, so how come "Rehab" qualifies when it was released
in 2006? Winelake herself has been around since 2003, so how come she
qualifies as a "new artist"?

US single release was 2007, apparently.

Maybe the theory is that they have to pile awards on her while she's still
alive. If only she could get together with Pete Doherty, we could maybe be
rid of the pair of them inside a few weeks.

Whatever, it should get more record sales which she won't sniff at.
