[OTP] Neighbours Spoilers

Don't forget that "Neighbours" is now moving to Channel Five
on Monday 11th February, with new episodes at 1:45pm, and the
evening repeats at 5:30pm. There should also be an omnibus.


SPOILERS FOR NEIGHBOURS, 14-18 APR'08 (5376-5380)


Evading Karl's wrath, Darren is forced to tell the whole story, so Libby
calmly orders him out of her life for good. Self-righteous Ned is so cruel
to Janae, she feels forced to abandon her own home. Carmella is discharged,
but Rebecca's support helps her to stay on with Chloe. Jarrod has to insist
that though Libby is their friend, Janae is family, to make Stephanie give
the poor girl shelter. Once Ben falls asleep, his mother is free to break
down, while Darren ends up in a bar to drown his failure in booze.

Libby applies for her old job at Erinsborough High, where Daniel notices
Angus apologising to Bridget, then assumes the worst. Oliver is defensive
with Karl about Chloe's grandfather. Stephanie gives in, and hugs Janae.
When Carmella is sent home, Oliver takes her to the flat he has renovated,
but she appreciates more a portrait of her sketched by Marco. After a note
passed by Taylah in class hardens his darkest suspicions, Daniel brings in
Steve - so Bridget humiliates herself by backing up Mr.Henderson's lies.

Though Bridget truthfully declares the teacher never touched her, Steve
won't believe it - she'll be moved to an all-girl school. Libby thanks a
meek Janae for having done her a favour, then makes friends. Since Bridget
cannot describe the colour of Mr.Henderson's eyes, Declan works out she's
protecting her best friend. Libby summons Darren to explain himself to Ben,
before saying goodbye. When Steve grabs Angus in a crowded school corridor,
Declan announces the scumbag's affair was with that selfish cow, Rachel.

Angus alleges that Declan is scheming, so Daniel decides to play dirty.
Because Karl hopes that Chloe can heal Oliver's family, a suspicious Paul
follows him to find Richard. Worried about Rachel in an adult relationship,
Susan hands the girl's mobile to Daniel, who uses it to make Angus think it
incriminates him. Carmella focuses on motherhood, letting a downcast Marco
fly off to Perth. Fooled into thinking Angus has scorned her, Rachel lashes
out as his ex-lover, annoying Libby that Daniel could be so deceitful.

His career going down the toilet, Henderson faces jail - as Libby urges
Susan to ease up on Rachel, for going all the way with the guy. While Karl
persuades Paul to say nothing, Oliver & Declan discover their dying father
and then make him apologise to Rebecca. Seeing Mickey hurt by her absence,
Janae starts badly missing her mother. When Richard dies, freeing Rebecca
at last, she still resents Paul for not confiding in her. Rachel regrets
her ruined reputation, yet blames Susan for the charges against Angus.

I'm told that under the State of Victoria 1958 Crimes Act, it is an offence
to partake in sexual penetration with persons under the age of 16; however,
if the younger party is aged 10 to 15, this may be allowed if the defendant
is no more than two years older. The point here is that the age of consent
goes up to *18* years, should the defendant be in a supervisory and/or care
role, for example a teacher or guardian. At the time of the offence, Rachel
was only 16 (and when Taj had sex with his teacher Libby, he was over 18).
