[OTP] Neighbours Spoilers - 2007X28
SPOILERS FOR BBC NEIGHBOURS, 24-28 DEC'07 (5311-5312)
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
Boxing Day
Declan faces juvenile detention, so Oliver offers the car for sale, and
Karl gives it a trial. Escaping by setting off the fire alarm, Elle warns
her father, but he still treats Laura well. Bridget obeys her parents by
telling Declan she mustn't see him, triggering a nasty row from which she
stumbles away, blinded by tears. Laura begs Nick to end his scam. Having
slept all day, Susan is late for a meeting - lurching off in the borrowed
car, she sends Bridget tumbling, then wakes up as a tyre hits the kerb.
Mickey sees Declan's car speeding away, then finds Bridget in the gutter
just before Karl drives up with his kids. Having found out about Oliver's
wealthy connections, Nick concocts a new evil plan, although Laura thinks
it's insane. While Zeke calls for an ambulance, Karl gets Bridget's heart
beating again, and Rachel answers the girl's mobile to give poor Miranda
the horrifying news. Rebecca tries to help Declan though he's masking his
pain, unaware of the coming storm as Mickey tells his dad what he saw.
---o0o---
Beware that holiday scheduling could be subject to late adjustment.

It might seem unlikely, but that happened in 1992/1993/1994/1995.

Well, it turns out you were right Paul! In its wisdom, the BBC has
decided to copy the Australians with a three-week Christmas break,
declaring the show will return on Monday, 7th January 2008. Whether
they keep to this, and what the airtimes will be is unknown...
Anyway, please see my 2008111 posting for the rescheduled spoilers.

I thought it moved to C5 from the start of 2008, anyway?

From the start of the 2008 *season* - episode 5366, which will be shown
in Australia on Monday 7th January. When that will happen in the UK is
less certain, not only because the BBC has now broken their promise not
to mess everyone about, but also because the extra two weeks delay in
UK transmission will then take the schedule past the Easter holiday.

It sounds like the BBC is acting just like the spoiled brat who takes
away his football, just because his mates won't play him as a striker
(even though he's hopeless at it).

Pretty much the same thing happened when Five got Home and Away off of
ITV. They weren't allowed to show it until a year after it finished on
ITV, IIRC. I suppose it's just like "gardening leave" when some people
leave one job and aren't allowed to start a new one until some time
later.

I'm afraid you could well be right, Paul. :(

It is Sean, though this time the BBC had said they would play fair. :(

-- terribly rowdy they used to get
on Boat Race night -- and I bumps into a young bloke on Shaftesbury Avenue.
Quite a gent, 'e was -- dress shirt, top 'at, black overcoat. 'E was kind
of zig-zagging across the pavement, and I bumps into 'im accidental-like.
'E says, "Why can't you look where you're going?" 'e says. I say, "Ju think
you've bought the bleeding pavement?" 'E says, "I'll twist your bloody 'ead
off if you get fresh with me." I says, "You're drunk. I'll give you in
charge in 'alf a minute," I says. An' if you'll believe me, 'e puts 'is
'and on my chest and gives me a shove as pretty near sent me under the
wheels of a bus. Well, I was young in them days, and I was going to 'ave
fetched 'im one, only--'
A sense of helplessness took hold of Winston. The old man's memory was
nothing but a rubbish-heap of details. One could question him all day
without getting any real information. The party histories might still be
true, after a fashion: they might even be completely true. He made a last
attempt.
'Perhaps I have not made myself clear,' he said. 'What I'm trying to
say is this. You have been alive a very long time; you lived half your life
before the Revolution. In 1925, for instance, you
