Joey S2 at last
According to Digiguide, it starts on C5 on Sun 29th Apr at 7.10pm (two
episodes).

I can only assume it'll be shown at roughly the same time on succeeding
weeks.

Sunday at 7.10pm? They're really going for the ratings in the God slot, aren't

Thanks, Paul. I hold no hopes that JS2 will be worth actually watching,
but completeness is completeness. Have you heard if C5 has purchased the
rights to show Season 3 onwards of "Two and a Half Men"?

There isn't a Godslot any more; just "Songs of Praise" at 5:35. :)

For me, JS2 will just fill the gap between "Scrapheap Challenge" and "Top
Gear"; then the rest of the night is your own as you turn the telly off.

You find a reason to turn the TV *on* on a Sunday?! :)

Apart from flicking through Something for the Weekend, which helpfully reminds
me that it's called Something for the Weekend because it constantly has a logo
onscreen stating Something for the Weekend, I'll also tune into the Politics
Show, and sometimes Sunday AM, to see which politician's talking crap this
week.

Last Sunday, I felt slightly sorry for Tony Blair (well, not really). After
the questions he was meant to answer, Jon Sopel asked him what he thought of
the press going on about the Wills/Kate split that was all over the front
pages. Blair just said they should be left alone and that was about it.

Then on the news later and in the Ceefax headlines, they led with "Tony Blair
calls for the press to give Prince William and Kate Middleton some space as
they go through their traumatic split" or something similar.

I notice that the whole of Joey S2 still hasn't been shown in the US,
though it has elsewhere.

I thought they usually screened any remaining episodes of defunct shows
during the summer?

Indeed - and it's the first on-topic (or indeed post of any kind) here

I guess it depends what they're contractually-bound to show. Often in the US,
they just dump stuff that doesn't get ratings so they don't have to have an
embarrassment hanging around.

The only recent example I can think of that happened with that is ITV's Making
Waves, from 2004: http://amazon-uk.imdb.com/title/tt0390740

Other failures like Stan The Man (http://amazon-uk.imdb.com/title/tt0307833)
had its remaining episodes played out late at night at a time that would only
get occupied by late-night quiz show Gutterball, and the Michelle Collins
drama Single (http://amazon-uk.imdb.com/title/tt0358334) which was still
played out at the same time after being dumped by ITV from its Saturday 10pm
slot, but was shown on ITV2 instead.

Trouble is, when something's doing badly, I'd rather they show it somewhere at
some time, rather than not at all.

An example of a good show that was unaired in the US after a while was the
engaging Do Over, where a bloke in his mid-30s went back to the early 80s and
was 13 again. Like Life on Mars, he had the benefit of later knowledge, so in
one episode went to a fancy dress disco dressed as a ghostbuster. "A what?",
said his sister.

C4 showed it in full and put it on during the middle of the night when a
7.30pm family slot would've been good for it, as they were showing similar
stuff at the time. A mate in the US enjoyed what was shown there and asked me
to get the unaired eps for him.

Not to mention Dedee's 'For Your Love' - I've still never seen S1 of

I seem to recall it *had* been shown in the US, just not by the networks.

It's *so* much better than "Joey", and could've been a "Friends" spinoff.

The same thing happened with S2 of "Almost Perfect", which was quite good.

1. Download Utorrent (or a similar bittorrent program but that's the one I
use)
2. Get some torrents from sites like www.mininova.org and www.thepiratebay.org
3. Open them in Utorrent and then right-click on the torrents that are open to
limit the upload speed so they're on 10 at the most, or if you've got several
running then alter the upload speed so it goes up to no more than 30 in total.

There was a bloke on Question Time last night who was a journo and apart from
telling Jan Ravens that she was talking crap (to which she replied that if he
wants to be cheap and nasty then he's on his own), he said that you shouldn't
believe what you read in the papers, and she replied that since he was a
journo then that speaks volumes(!)

It was a slow night and the Radio 2 comedy slot at 10pm (last night being
Clive Anderson's Chat Room) had been moved from 10pm to the stupid time of
11.30pm.

I think those on TV news are the worst; they think they know everything
yet know so little, and are only out to cause the worst trouble.

Hence the "*so*" - "it's much better" wouldn't be saying much, but
yes "Two and a Half Men" is well worth seeing in its own right.

Sunday at 7.10pm? They're really going for the ratings in the God slot, aren't
they(?)

I'm just surprised it wasn't 3.10am... :)

Indeed - and it's the first on-topic (or indeed post of any kind) here
for ages. :)

No idea - don't watch it.
