Bovine Methane
A propos the great eructating cow debate, R5 went for it today and, at
a delicate hour of the morning, discussed "farting and belching",
whereas "Today" on R4, referred only to the belching aspects of the
"problem". Vive la difference!

A casual trawl of Google reveals this:-

In 2003, the New Zealand government attempted to impose a methane tax
on farmers because their livestock was responsible for more than half
the country's greenhouse gas emissions.

But the so-called "fart tax" was dropped after protests from farmers. -

How will DEFRA deal with the "problem"?

G'day
